Welcome Hickson to the Nuggets

This has to mean that one of the bigs is on the way out or that they are not bringing back Mozgov, he did start alongside Aldridge last year so I guess he can play center as a backup.

Re: Welcome Hickson to the Nuggets
This is definitely a good contract and I do like Hickson, just not as a backup center. It would make a lot more sense if we never would have made the Koufos trade.
Maybe they're trying to trade Faried? There was that rumor on draft night and now we've picked up two solid PFs...

The Nuggets need a guy with a post game and he did rebound really well out of position last year. He's also young. Mozgov might be on his way to Russia or they just see Hickson as filling a need.
I like my prospects the same way I like my women... foreign- pickIBL

not mad at this move. we still need 3pt shooting though, so i hope the FO addresses that without trading away Faried.

Re: Welcome Hickson to the Nuggets
Add another quality big in Arthur
Lawson-Miller
??-Founier
Gallo-Chandler
Faried-Arthur
Hickson-McGee
Think Chandler can play the starting 2 role full time? Do you resign Brewer & let him start. With Lawon, Gallo, Wilson, Brewer you have a lot of good people who can shoot, you still don't have any good shooters though you know?

There is no way Hickson is starting and no Chandler can't play the 2. Re-signing Brewer is hopefully not going to happen

I prefere Chandler play the 3 and 4 but Chandler is capable of play SG
the 2009-2010 Knicks prove it
Chandler, SG, 35.7mpg, 48% FG, 27% 3P, 81% FT, 5.4 reb, 2.1 ast, 15.3 ppg
Gallo, SF, 33.9mpg, 42.3% FG, 38% 3P, 82% FT, 4.9 reb, 1.7 ast, 15.1 ppg
The best starting lineups of that year was Duhon, Chandler, Gallo, Jeffries, Lee and Duhon, Chandler, Harrington, Jeffries, Lee. Even with Duhon and Jeffries those starting lineups was a team not too far from 50% winning (ok was East conference)

I'm not particularly worried about who plays where/who starts. There are plenty of minutes for Hickson, Faried and McGee at the 4/5.

Happy with the signing. That's a bargain at 5m a year and he has a lot of potential. He's always impressed me since his days in Cleveland. Hope he continues to grow.

Re: Welcome Hickson to the Nuggets
He's had an interesting career so far.
Barring that trade to Sacremento, he has statistically improved every year. FG% has been pretty solid.
Portland fans didn't like him despite putting up a double-double last season playing out of position. They cited it being a contract year and his inability to defend the post or block shots.
I think he will be a solid contributor in Denver, especially with Faried and McGee to help block shots and hide him a little in that regard.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but I just don't see Faried as a starting PF on a second-round-and-better playoff team. An off the bench energy guy, yeah, but he's just not big enough, nor is his offensive game anywhere near the level of the top 4's.
I'd think his trade value could net us a pretty good starting SG.

good asset on a very reasonable contract. he'll likely turn out a trade piece in the future.
it seems kroenke picked up some pointers from masai in terms of having more assets now and not needing them than having too few when we're in a discussion to receive a high caliber player.

you really are in the minority. energy guys like faried are rare and regardless of his height, he's been improving in terms of shooting the basketball. it may never reach the three point line like most of the nba players who are his height can, but i believe he can get it up to 15 feet at least.
personally, there are only a few sg's i'd be willing to trade for like harden or curry if he counts, but that's it. not even wade in his current form.
