They should deduct 3 points each from the Jazz and Heat for that pitiful game.

I think it's pretty pointless to have so many one-sided conversations in here, we should be allowed to criticize players, coaches, and GMs in here, especially since just about everyone who has done so has written some lengthy reasons to why they are doing so. It's not working the other way around though in some cases.

Agree. I hate the word "hater", so cliche. Pointing out a player's weakness or not sold on them doesn't make one a "hater".

My issue with both sides is the absolute nature of the statements. Fine if you (general you, not you in particular) want to point out a weakness, but many people were using game one in the summer league as definitive proof of their point. It's lunacy.

If game one mattered at all (and really it doesn't) I could say, with a straight face, that Oladipo did a better job playing PG than either MCW or Trey Burke. But it doesn't mean he's a better PG (at least not today).

He had a very encouraging game overall, but his handle needs a ton of work. Once they started pressuring him more he picked up his dribble several times, as you mentioned, and he was looking to pass it quickly other times which led to some terrible passes.

Yea, I expected it off the bat & I do expect him to improve, but you just can't telegraph passes the way he was doing today & constantly picking up your dribble at the first sign of pressure.

That's where a lot of these college systems hurt these players coming into the NBA. They implement a system filled with constant moving & instant passing & a lot of these players don't have to break down defenses constantly.

He will learn though, & that's why they are giving him these early reps at that spot.

It doesn't matter, these over sensitive guys get so emo about ANYTHING negative being pointed out. One game, One season, it doesn't matter, the theme is the same.

We watched one game in a thread together for what purpose? To break down what HAPPENED in that one game.

I can agree with this 1000%. Only thing is what other option do we have on this summer league roster at PG?

That is why is say let it go through the SL games. Who are we gonna play there? That sorry #22 kid who will be cut in a week?

I bet Osby can play point. :D

Right, breaking down what happens is one thing... saying SEE, HE CAN'T PLAY PG BECAUSE HE TURNED THE BALL OVER ZOMG, is another. That gets back to my absolutes comment. Dipo has a number of things he would need to improve if he is going to be our PG. Can he? Maybe. We'll see how it goes.

No, next best option is to quit your job so you can watch these games. You have about 12 hours to call in and quit before tipoff tomorrow. :D

you can buy the summer league service from nba.com for $15. With it you can watch the games on your tablet, computer or smartphone anytime and anywhere with a internet connection. Plus they archive the games so if you missed it you can watch it in full

Finally getting a chance to watch the SL game...my thoughts:

Dipo - My god at the D and his stroke is a little better than I thought but he def needs work to stay at PG or even a facilitating guard which is the role I think he played. He had a couple flashes off the pick but guys setting really didn't help at all but it'll come for sure. The other thing I saw was how clunky his dribble still is but thatis something else that will come with time

Ro Osby - What a steal in the 2nd rd, he better start in the next game because he is a damn man, demanded respect in the paint, set staggering screens then proved he was an offensive threat jamming or with the pick & pop. I was hoping he would prove himself as a PF and he was impressive on offense and D

Harkless - He has improved on D which is great to see, that will be a tough match with him, Tobias and Dipo on the floor CAN'T WAIT

Olynyk - my goodness he's gonna be a star on the NBA very reminiscent of Dirk type game C's will be very happy with him
"That's my bread & butter, if I wanted to play basketball growing up I had to guard the best teams best player and get stops" -Oladipo on his D

I think the reason people get defensive/up in arms about people criticizing Hennigan/Players etc is that it often seems an overreaction. IE (hypothetical) Hennigan doesn't get involved in a trade that people thought we could have. I don't think we can really know the full story as to why we weren't involved so how are we as fans in position to criticize.

I agree that it is a bit of a "anything bad you say is wrong" attitude around here. But I see nothing wrong with having more optimists than pessimists around here :D

Was anyone else unreasonably agitated by 3D and Chellini calling Kelly Olnyk "KO"?

THATS OUR GUYS NAME!!
