OFF TOPIC. Back in the groove, With smoove.

Post#1 » by zeebneeb » Sun Jul 7, 2013 7:26 pm

I just had to do it, sorry. I've been off the basketball for a few years, been busy with life, e.t.c. I get heavily invested into the Pistons when I watch them, become obsessed with stats, matchups, and lose my mind when they lose. So, yeah I bandwagoned it when the team turned into crap. I watched on occasion, but when Frank happened, no way in HELL am I watching that dolt coach a team.

Just want to say hey to all the old gang,(I guess I should say hi to all the new guys, but after seeing people complain about a lack of offense in this town I wont) as I see a lot of them have come out of the woodwork themselves(Not calling you guys band wagoners just...oppoutunistic...)in recent days.

Good to be back, and pretty damn excited to see whats in store for our Pistons this year.

Plus it took me a few years to get over Darko. Man I thought he was going to be great. What a **** nightmare that was.

Ill never get that image of him being stuffed by the rim in his first year. Damn. Anyway, I've been watching tape the past two days on all our guys, and holy **** do I see why people are slobbering over Drummond. I watch him, and cant believe a man that size, is doing those things. Moose is an interesting player, but is lazy as **** on defense. Almost needs to drink a 6-pack of red bull before each game, or attach a cattle prod to to the other Piston players to get his ass in gear when needed. Great passer. Love Josh Smith of course. Everyone else just sucks, or I don't care about. Knight, whatever. Max still eats babies on occasion, and Stuckey's an idiot.

Good to be back.

Just because people are new to the board doesn't make them new to the team or a new fan. This isn't Miami, there isn't much in terms of bandwagoners around here.

Glad to have you back Zeeb. Your peculiar musings entertain the hell out of me.

On a side note, the Kwame/Moron avatar could probably be updated. Maybe a Stuckey/Moron?

I've never watched a Pistons player more exciting than Andre Drummond.

I am 26 years old.

That was poorly worded on my part. I mean im seeing a lot of the old posters posting again in recent days. It was an intended jab at them, in good fun.

I did mean the part about people complaining about having a good defense, at the expense of offense though. No apologies for that one.

Your reading my mind. Its a tough call though. Kwame is one of the dumbest people to ever pick up a basketball, had hands like papa smurf covered in baby oil, and had the coordination of 3yo.

Stuckey likes to blast into the lane like Luke Skywalker without the option of a wide open vent though....

I've read this forum everyday for the past 6 years until deciding to join in. Just seemed the time was right huge Stones fan to the point where my GF truly thinks I'm obsessed since I can't seem to put the iPad down. I've spent everyday since the draft basically from sun up to sun up trolling the S*^% out of these forums lol. Love that I finally have
A. Pistons fans which is hard to find I managed a B dubs and still no one cared
B. Intelligent Pistons fans that know what their talking about

Most other forums aren't nearly as active as ours is and I'm proud of that.

It's tough to get excited about a team that doesn't give you any reason to be excited for. I agree that this team has finally turned the page.
I've been a member and reader here for years. I know you all better than you know me.
Here's to the future.

I'll break my self imposed posting exile (I lurk) to also welcome zeeb back! This should be entertaining!

as a returning poster I have to say it's good to see another old boy return!

Missed you Zeeb - your posts are never dull!

Can't wait until the season begins and you're breaking it down like the old days.

Don't be too hard on the "new kids"... (some of them are extremely intelligent) to them we're the new guys and they probably think we don't know jack about the team or the "new" NBA

deathstar?!? :D

Welcome back zeeb.

I guess I'm one of the woodwork fans you referenced. Life's been busy and I read the board but don't like the new make-up too much so I browse topics and leave. But I'm excited over Drummond and now JSmoove.

I'm one of those weird NBA fans who likes ugly slugfests. Pistons will have to work hard, crash boards, and wear teams down in the half court to make things happen. Their defense has potential to be the best in the league...and I don't think that's over-stating anything. I don't think they'll be fun to play against. TNT and ESPN will hate this team. Some local media will be embarrassed by them. I'm looking forward to it.
