Kobe meets with Melo for possible 2014 destination

Post#1 » by ak7 » Mon Jul 8, 2013 1:24 am

ShawnFM ‏@ShawnFNBA 16h
Carmelo & Kobe did have a private dinner tonight in Newport Beach, Ca. Kobe & Melo are very close. First defection of 2014 summer?

Why does this matter and why is this just not some internet rumor bs?

This guy is a well placed source of many of the LATimes reporters and I do remember reading a few years back that he and Roland Lazenby had a legit relationship - not sure if it is there anymore, but we all know Lazenby is Phil's mouthpiece.

I think it's suffice to say that if Melo in a Lakers uniform develops into a serious possibility, MDA will be out the door.

I agree many around here won't though, the Knicks might have sealed their fates with that Bargnani trade.

Not sure Melo would be a good fit with kobe on the floor. 2 ball stoppers not conducive to TEAM basketball.

But our options will be limited to getting the best fit for us given what ee have now.

As Kobe gets older and his hunger for another ring becomes bigger I think we might see him start to "share" a bit more. That's being optimistic though.

I already know from day 1 that Melo would be ours on 2014. I mean, look at Knicks' roster.

Next summer, we'll have enough money to sign Melo + another player for a ton of money.

I'd LOVE to get Bledsoe next summer for 10+ million a year. Kid's gonna be a star. Bledsoe + Melo + Kobe on his last legs = Golden

I would love to have Melo if he played a Ray Allen type role with the Lakers

I don't understand Melo and Kobe being a ball hog. We all know Kobe led the league if assist for SG last year. And for Melo, who do you think he should pass the ball on that Knicks squad? JR SMith? I've watched a couple of Knicks game last year. And Melo is passing the ball but his teammates are not converting.

BTW, I hope we can steal Bosh from Miami next season. I really think he can still produce. Kobe/Melo/Bosh will be awesome. We just need a defensive minded center and 3 and D PG.

Such a stupid comment.

So explain why lebron had 7+ assists while him playing in Cleveland?

There's a reason why lebron went to the finals and these 2 haven't by themselves, and that's that they are scorers only. High volume shooters.

Kobe also had the ball the most from all Sg and most field goal attempts.

Melo is KNOWN as a ball hog but according to you he isn't. Jesus Christ. Your blind biasedness is funny.
