Looking forward to watching the backcourt of McCallum and McLemore. I followed Gutierrez at Cal, he is a real competitor and was a fan favorite for the way he plays.

That team isn't going to win anything. They should just let Jimmer and Cole play (if he resigns).

I have to agree a little disappointing with the talent level they were able to get on board. You would think undrafted free agents would see Sacramento as an opportunity to make a team. Instead you have guys like Myck Kobongo being like the Heat are cool I'll play with them.

I honestly think Trevor Mbakwe and Drew Gordon are the only "outsiders" that have a shot at making the roster, although I think both are long shots. I watched Mbakwe a few times at Minnesota, loved his defensive effort and overall presence, but yet another undersized PF. Gordon, I don't know much about but have heard a few things about him.

Oh and I'll be at a few of their games at Thomas & Mack next week. Shall be fun, as always.

Didn't follow McCallum in college, so I'm curious to see what this kid's got. I'm hoping McClemore will show some aggressiveness and just let it rip.

You would think they'd be more heavy on the SF's and C's than G's..... So this tells me these are just scrimmages for Big Mac and Ray and no one really has the chance to make the team

Thought it would be good to start up a thread, even though ours haven't started yet.

Drummond looks like a beast again (then again it was against a bunch of rookies and undrafted FAs), man we really missed on that one. He would be the perfect defensive presence next to Cuz.

MCW had a great game, although those 9 turnovers are pretty bad.
26 Points
7 Rebounds
8 Assists
9 Turnovers

Burke went 1-12... Ouch.

And the great white hope from the Celtics had 25 points and a good game in general.

Didn't watch any of the Summer League games today, but I 100% agree about missing out on Drummond. Wished we would have picked him last year at the time of the draft, and knew we'd regret it if we didn't. Drummond and Cousins together would have been something else.

Passing on both Drummond and Henson are going to prove to be big mistakes for Petrie in what possibly may be his last draft.

I vaguely remember there being an inverse correlation with how well rookies play in the summer league vs. how well they play when the real games start. Anthony Randolph is the biggest example of this, but I remember looking over the summer league MVPs a year or so ago and it was no man's land.

Henson quietly had a really good year with the Buck and his April was bonkers. I know it's the end of the season stuff but 9 and 9 with 2 bpg in 20 mpg? That's crazy. About 6 and 5 in only 14 mpg for the whole year but the best things I saw out of him was his defense. He will be one of the better pick and roll defending bigs in the league in no time. He just flat out knows how to play defense and where to be on the floor. He would have been PERFECT next to Cousins and would have been a rare combo of shotblocking and good positional defense. He won't be a star but man THE perfect fit next to Cuz.

Summer league is weird. I still stand by my belief that you will find no group of players playing harder than summer league. A lot of guys fighting for their NBA lives on patched together teams and it doesn't always translate to good BBall.

There is zero correlation between Summer League play and NBA play. Some guys suck in SL and tear up the NBA (like Rose and Lebron), some guys tear up the SL and suck in the NBA (Randolph, Quincy Douby), some guys tear up the SL and end up decent (Bayless), some guys tear up SL and end up great (Lillard).

I do think we missed on Drummond though. He's a lot more NBA ready than I thought he would be.

Kelly Olynyk has looked pretty decent too. He has a decent jumper, good handles for a big man, and a great feel for the game. I think the Celtics got a steal from the Mavs.

Olynyk is going to be a good NBA player. Great team for him to be on too, he'll have a chance to show his production potential. The Thunder should have went with Olynyk. He could have helped them a great deal from day 1.

They probably could play with an Olynyk/Ibaka front court too. They'd get enough production from him that they probably wouldn't need to find a replacement for Kevin Martin.
