Wiretap = Wolves looking to cut salary

Post#1 » by Piston Pete » Mon Jul 8, 2013 2:08 pm

They are looking to deal either Barea or Ridnour (expiring) tocut salary. I wouldn't mind taking on Ridnour and his expiring deal to backup Knight.

Jerebko/2nd for Ridnour/Derrick Williams?

We take on salary so they can finalize signing Pekovic, Martin, and Budinger.

I'd like to maintain some flexibility to bring back Chauncey and add a young big like Wright or Mullins, but I'd have to say yes to your proposed deal.

As a wolves fan I hope they figure out a plan with AK before they let go of Derrick. Would love to see guys like him or Wright added to our bench though. Remake the zoo crew.

I think it makes more sense for them to unload Williams for a second cause I don't think that they want Jerebko. I'd only take on salary for a 2014 pick. This doesn't do that.

I'm pretty sure they're okay and don't NEED to dump anyone to sign Martin, Bud, and Pek. They definitely don't need to unload D Williams, that's one of those homer/something-for-nothing deals. Ridnour is probably good enough to be traded on his own, with maybe a 2nd thrown in. And he makes $4m, we're not getting a 1st round pick to take on a productive guy at a small salary.

I think they just want to trade one of Barea and Ridnour so they don't have three vet pgs (Rubio being the other). They'd rather spend FA money on depth elsewhere.

Guys, we no longer have room or a role for Derrick Williams.

i'd happily take Ridnour for a TPE and a future 2nd. He'd fill a need.
The billips thing would be nice, but i don't see him coming back.

That's a good idea Pete. Ridnour would instantly be our best PG and he is a good shooter. Derrick Williams is an upgrade over Jerebko and Williams has 3 point range something Jerebko doesn't.

I would combine this move with the move the GSW fan suggested in the other thread sending Stuckey to GSW for their TPE which means after this 2 moves we would have more cap space than before and would turn Stuckey/Jerebko into shooters which we really need.

Drummond / Monroe
Monroe / J.Smith / D.Williams
J.Smith / D.Williams

That front court would be awesome and they all have room to grow.
