Trust me, most hawks fans are living a nightmare at the thought of either Jennings or Ellis in a Hawks jersey. I know I am.

J.Teague

Teague also had significantly better teammates.

After looking at mysynergysports these guys are both very similar players. Teague gives you more of the PG mentality where Jennings is more of a 2. Down below I attached there stats from synergy sports both offensively and defensively

Siince Dwight left, Lakers will most likely be able to get below the apron just by amnestying MWP. Once we do that, we can receive players in sign & trade.. Jennings or Ellis + Larry Sanders for Pau needs to happen.

You have to remain under the apron AFTER the sign and trade, and for the rest of the season. That means even if you manage to get slightly under the apron after amnestying MWP, you still don't have enough cap room to take in Jennings or Monta in a sign and trade without sending out a big salary piece to match.

So even after amnestying MWP, you will still need to lose more key guys in the sign and trade. What big salary piece can you trade out to match Monta or Jenning's salary? Pau Gasol? Injured Kobe? Broken Nash?

I doubt a young rebuilding team like the Hawks would want a player getting long in the tooth like Pau Gasol.

And, in addition, you'd need to forfeit your $3M taxpayer MLE if using it would put you over the apron. And you can't do any trades at the trade deadline or for the rest of the season if that trade will bump you over the apron.

Getting to one or two million under the apron after amnestying MWP doesn't really open up many sign and trade options for capped out teams like the Lakers. It certainly won't get them Monta or Jennings without giving up assets of worth (do they even have any draft picks after sending a bunch out in the Nash deal?) to entice Hawks/Bucks and sufficient salary pieces to match the incoming contracts from Monta or Jennings.

They're definitely not tanking. They signed Millsap, re-signed Korver and still have Horford. Even dealing for jennings will still have them as a lower seed playoff team.

I don't understand what the Hawks are thinking here. Danny Ferry did a great job last year but I'm genuinely puzzled by this year's offseason moves. They sign Millsap, an undersized PF which forced Horford back to the C spot. They re-signed Korver, and now they're dealing Jeff Teague, who's just a flat out better PG, for jennings. No comprendo.

Or option 3) You are giving Ferry way too much credit. I'm leaning towards 3 myself.

So the Lakers have a time machine capable of bringing back 2008 Pau or something? Does Kupchak have racy, revealing photos of Bucks GM John Hammond? No? Then the only acquisition that needs to be made here is one which has you attaining common sense.

Believe it or not that is a win for the Bucks... Jennings is a cancer.

Ummm, Jennings is a FA. It's win for the Bucks to resign a cancer just to lower the value of their young center for an aging Pau?

They are tanking, but doing it SA style. in 96, the Spurs signed Dominique Wilkins and sat out Robinson. they are doing the same thing with Millsap and Horford.

When the Cavs tanked for Lebron, they traded away Andre Miller instead of sitting him out or under playing him like David Robinson or Sean Elliott. this is why it took Lebron a few years to make the playoffs, while Duncan made the playoffs in his rookie year.

FYI: League rules states that team have to spend a minimum of $55 million each year, so the NBA is forcing the Hawks to spend money. (this is why you see the Jazz and Celtic taking on big contracts like its no big deal)

This would be an awful move for the Hawks

I believe it's $52 million this year... and I'll believe that the Hawks will go the phantom injury route when I see it.

Honestly I'd rather have Ellis at PG than Jennings, and I think at the price he'll probably go for I prefer Teague over either one. Not sure Ferry's thinking here, but I do like the MIllsap pickup.

And Larry Sanders is one of the best defensive bigs in the NBA.

Jennings can find his own way. There's nothing written down, nothing here to tell him, nothing to tell him to turn around. He see's Monta hating, doesn't want to see him hating.

I'm surprised another teams front office, besides the Bucks, wants Brandon Jennings.

Funny how both Bucks and Hawks fans don't want him though

yeah its funny because the Bucks don't want to be a treadmill team with the slight upgrade in PG. and the Hawks don't want Jennings who is a 6'1 Josh Smith.

So they're going to resign a cancer to package him with one of the best defensive centers for a 33 y/o Pau? Yeah definitely makes more sense than just letting him walk

Can you guys please not say involving Larry Sanders in a trade for Pau is a win for the Bucks? That's honestly disgusting. Laker fans, man.

You're right Jennings has more talent than Teague but a deal could work perfectly for the Bucks

It seems to be Jennings for Teague if the Bucks and Hawks wants to get this deal done... Would love to see Ellis in Chicago though!
