A certain percentage for taxes, certain percentage for agents, family stuff, sometimes alimony and/or child support, and then factor in that a lot of those guys live pretty profligately during their careers if only b/c they're hanging around with other rich guys (and some support an entourage). I don't know anything about Nate's habits, but guys like Iverson made a whole lot more than Nate and don't have anything to show for it. So I wouldn't just assume that he's well heeled for life and now in a position to take a pay cut for a title run.
Comparing Nate to Iverson is quite the stretch.
Nate seems to have a pretty stable family and life, has really matured and has a good head on his shoulders.
The rich and wealthy pay little in taxes, and yes while they do have to pay percentage for agents et al, they're not exactly struggling to get by.
