Depressing that we can't even beat the Miami Summer League team, which doesn't have a single NBA contract player on it. Both Detroit and Miami outworked us and looked more athletic. Taylor faded out at the end after good first 3 quarters, Plumlee had some good moments & a nice game but the rest was just bad. Toko's passing looks better than ever, but unfortunately everything in his game looks worse.

i dont care about winning in summer league... but yea, would love to see more energy, more scrappyness, more activity on the glass. this team had the stench of last years nets all over it. im fine with all kinds of suck in summer league, but effort should not be one of them. and for this team, not having elite effort should not be one of them. not when your head coach is on the sideline, and not when that coach is jkidd

i want a culture of accountability. i dont get the sense the CS was underwhelmed with the effort, which isnt a huge issue, but i was hoping for effort to be a focal point, from day 1 to the end of the season, from summer league to the playoffs. from carlton scott to KG

But dey lost bro... Nets don't stand a chance this year.

Should have drafted player XYZ instead. Then they'd be contenders...

come on... its not even close to that kind of knee jerk. saying you want your young guys to be fiesty with your rookie coach at the healm early on isnt really the same as calling for his head

Im relaxed. Just disappointed about seeing regression or no improvements from Toko and Tyshawn.

All Toko should worry about doing is rebound hard, crash the glass, defend hard & cut to the baskets for dunks or layups.

He shouldn't try hitting 3 pointers until he can start to knock them down at a decent clip.

He needs to focus on what he is good at. There is an opportunity for him to get a role on the Brooklyn team as a hustle energy guy off the bench to help keep pierce rested playing some minutes along with Bogdanovic.

Plumlee seems so far to give us some nice depth at center but I doubt he plays outside of garbage time but who knows he might develop into something more. We very well could need Plumlee to take over Blatches role with the Nets from next season if we can't retain Blatche or he gets a big offer.

If only Teletovic finds his mojo and gave us a legit option at PF, it would really benefit Garnett & let us play him limit mins and even play some Center if need be.

He's a 4 IMO.

I don't think Plumlee has the offensive game to play the 4.

And Kidd didn't have the jumpshot when he came in. He's got the foot speed, the coordination, athleticism to be a 4. He even has a solid spin move and sky hook. If he adds a face-up game and combine it with that athleticism and coordination, he'll be fine. And his short arms won't matter as much as a 4.

If he can develop that range sure. But as of now that's just a hypothetical.

He showed a jump shot last game. Also, him getting a jumpshot is more likely than his arms getting longer. So while getting a faceup game is a hypothetical, that he will be undersized as a C is a fact based on reality. Looking at him side by side with Toko, he doesn't even look that much taller than Toko.

Toko is rumoured to be 6'10 now so he seems to still be growing. It looks like Brooklyn has Toko on a weights program to add bulk, maybe they see him as more of a PF instead of a SF.

Would explain it, coz he certainly does not look as nimble as last year. He also looked much bigger the first time I saw him. Still point stands...easier for Mason to get a jumpshot than to grow inches on those arms.

Was Plumlee considered a consistent jumpshooter last year or do we call him a jumpshooter like Humphries was for the Nets two years ago?

That's interesting. I've noticed his Point Forward skill set is being put to use more. I hope he will split minutes with Bogdanovic at Small Forward since there is no room for him to be a PF.
