Why do so many people think the Heat will break up?
I am fascinated by the media suggesting time and time again that Miami is going to trade Bosh or LeBron is going to opt out and leave. If Miami can manage to win the title this year they will have achieved something (4 straight Finals appearances with 3 titles) no team since the Russell led Celtics achieved. Yet I keep hearing people say the ride is over and the team is going to dissolve. Admittedly, at some point it becomes problematic to keep recycling older players (Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, Battier, etc) but there will always be a stable of players dreaming of joining Championship calibur teams and with Riley at the helm I am confident they can keep the support structure intact. I'm beginning to get angry at the lack of acknowledgement of the accomplishments of this team and its stars.
Anyone else?

Re: Why do so many people think the Heat will break up?
The Media needs to sell paper and find a story line. Since BIG 3 came together they've had "LeBron can't win" and after year one, that story was selling. Year two "can they win again", well they did and that sold papers. Year 3, "Should they trade Bosh".."Can the BIG3 stay together"..."Is LeBron going to Cleveland", those are the new storylines for the media to sell. After this year, no matter what happens, they store will be about "2014 Free Agency" and I forone don't see why they wouldn't. It was the NBA's greatest storyline of the last 10 years and why not try and duplicate it one more time?

I don't care if they break up. I am enjoying the run that they are on now. I don't know if I will see this again in my lifetime. It would be nice to find a way to make it work in the summer of 2014, but there are no guarantees. Take a cue from Pat Riley, let's not worry about the summer of 2014. Let's focus on supporting our team during the 2013-2014 season. Let's add an extra big man, and compete for the title.

I didn't expect the Summer of 2010 to happen, but I'm glad it fell in my lap.

Its not even plausible for LBJ to go to Cleveland or LAL. Join Kobe who he clearly dislikes? Help Kobe win a title? NO. Go back to an owner that embarrassed team owners across the world with his tirade and gypsy curse? So he can play with... a rarely uninjured Kyrie who needs the ball? Hardly. Even if Wade's health continues to diminish and the bruising of playing down low slows Bosh this team is his team and I see him sticking around for the rest of his career (at least the relevant parts).

I never said he would but the media needs to sell some kind of storyline. 99% of fans don't go on forum or read about what other teams are doing, they just read the storylines the media sells them. The Media in this country has turned from actual reporting to TMZ/Gossip reporting. The media is here to sell papers and will put whatever picture is needed to sell here are examples; U of Miami player gets arrested, they use that as part of cover story, Travon Martin, they either use an old photo(young) or the other side uses him as a guy with grill(sample), elections, one side uses quotes about how he hates america, the other talks about how the prez will save us all..Its pretty sad to see but its the world we live in now.

This.
On top of that, people want to believe this is gonna fall apart. They wanna believe Wade is gonna completely break down, they wanna believe Bosh isn't the player he once was, they wanna believe LeBron is gonna slow down once his athleticism leaves, just like they wanted to believe he had mental issues in the clutch. People are scared of this team and its dominance, they're scared it's gonna last longer and keep their team from winning it all. Every year there's a team that'll stop us in the playoffs according to what people think.
People want something bad happen to us because they can't fight our dominance on the basketball court. I mean in 2012 Bosh missed a good amount of playoff games and it didn't stop us. In 2012 Wade played through a tough injury and it didn't stop us. Thus, people are desperate and look for a way for this to end.
All this just means that we're the best in the league and just like HeatGuyinChicago said, let's just enjoy this and worry about 2014 when 2014 comes around.

Pretty much this. I sold my car for 3 finals tickets (ALL STANDING ROOM) and a flight down to Florida. I have close family in Jacksonville Florida we made the drive from there. Even though I'm broke and car-less now, that was a blast! Just focus all your awareness to the now and enjoy this run for one more year. Just treat this season as the last of the big 3... there's noting you can do to change the 2014 off season. So stop worrying and enjoy the best team to ever hit Florida for one more season.

The only thing we can do to influence their decisions is always make them feel welcome in this town. Keep off LeBron and support him. He is the best thing ever to hit this town.

Why are you surprised? For five years the Media kept telling everyone that Lebron was going to NY. Im sure that really pissed them off that they were dead wrong
. Now you get all media posting all negative stuff about Lebron.

Re: Why do so many people think the Heat will break up?
You can't blame the media they're in the business of selling ad space and the way they do that is by getting people to read their product. Many fans want the Heat to break up, so they feed that demand. The media is just trying to create a narrative to sell copy, that I can respect on some level. On the other hand its the fans and bystanders, especially on the GB, who think it could actually happen, that are worthy of laughter. You have to be a special brand of ignorant, stupid or a combination of both to think that the end of the Big 3 is near.
No one seems to ask the most logical question, if LeBron even had a reason to leave, where would he go and improve his situation? This notion that he'd go to the Lakers is so mindboggling in its stupidity, it's hard to believe people even pretend to believe it. Dwight Howard just left after getting there! That says something about Howard, but it also says something about how someone on the inside looks upon the Lakers' situation. LBJ doesn't like Kobe. He sure isn't following in his footsteps. He isn't helping him win any more titles. LBJ left one idiot owner, he isn't going to work for another. Jim Buss is not a chip off his father's block.
But perhaps even more absurd is the notion that LeBron might go back to Cleveland. This is almost entirely the handiwork of Brian Windhorst. A reporter asks LeBron whether he would ever CONSIDER returning to Cleveland and he gives a politically correct "yea" response and from that vacuous response, this rubbish has taken on a life of its own. Why would anyone harbor the possibility that LeBron might return to a city he already jilted, to play for an owner that trashed him publicly and even insinuated he had dirt he might spill. LeBron may have forgiven, but I doubt he's forgotten.
And he's going to return so he can play the rest of what remains of his prime with a core that thus far can't rise above the top of the lottery, for a coach he had no confidence in when he left, for about 30 mil. less over the course of a new contract. And by the way he's going to abandon his friends, the best organization in perhaps all of pro sports, one of the best owners, a championship winning coaching staff and a steady stream of top-flight role players so he can go back to a place that other free agents were refusing to go to when King James was there the last time! Really? When has a premium free agent ever left a situation where he was winning championships? I think LeBron would take his chances with Pat Riley even if D-Wade was done. People don't seem to realize how big a deal it is for a franchise player to bolt. It's an agonizing process. It's unimaginable that LeBron would do it twice, especially consider where he sits now.

Wishful thinking
Your emotions fuel the narratives that you create. You see what you want to see. You believe what you want to believe. You ascribe meaning when it is not there. You create significance when it is not present.

Kyrie is getting way too much credit for being a guy who has led his team to the lottery in 2 consecutive years (I know he is still very young, but the underserved attention hes getting is unreal)

I don't get why Cleveland is a destination after the city and the owner trashed LeBron and shredded him.
Would you want to go back there? Seriously, I could see him leaving but not Cleveland...

Not only that but he's also incredibly injury prone.
