Jimmer?

According to the above article Jimmer is available for party favors. What do you think about the possibility of using a TE to acquire him (and one for Chuck Hayes; it looks like they're a package deal)?

He's not the ideal backup PG (it's arguable whether he's a PG at all) but getting him could solve two issues:

1) shooting... duh
2) a fourth guard in the rotation... with the current roster, that'd either be Wroten or the rookie Franklin, and it's questionable whether either is ready. Franklin could be particularly problematic, because it would force Bayless to play more PG than he probably should.

From what i can tell some combination of draft considerations (future 2nds) and cash will get it done.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. Doesn't look like it will happen though.

Well sac should send the picks if hayes is involved.
I do see a few dif options

Prince for Thornton
Tpe for outlaw and picks

Tpe for jimmer,Hayes picks

Tpe for hayes + picks

Thornton,Hayes, outlaw are all bad contracts IMHO.

Maybe try to get Thomas

Hayes' contract is the reason it won't happen.

Jimmer is a good shooter, but just small. We need a guy that can play SF/SG and can shoot.

Wholly disagree with you. At this point the Grizz need role player/shooters period - regardless of height/position. The Grizz have enough diversity among the back court/wings that they can cover for about anything in spurts. They just desperately need to bring in at least one shooter that can play 10-15 min a game that can bring a change of pace/spacing to the game.

Granted, in a perfect world they would have the cap space/assets to move Tayshaun and bring in a 2/3 guy with some height and smooth outside shot to play major minutes. That's not happening though.

Tell me Jimmer can play with on the floor and do not think Prince has a lot of value right now with his last playoff performance.

Conley/Jimmer - too small for defense
Jimmer/Bayless - too small
Jimmer/Allen/Prince - only option that would work because Prince could run point.

I would rather get Hedo after the Magic buyout him out. He is a career 38% from 3 point range and can play 3/4

Don't get me wrong, with the options left on the table Jimmer is probably our best bet. Problem is we would have probably have to take a terrible contract in Chuck Hayes back. He is owed $5.7 and $5.9 million in next two seasons.

Sac town seems to be all over the place with what they want to do going forward. We really can't be interested in helping them solve their issues especially since what is being offered is not an ideal fit for us.

I don't know if we can say Jimmer + Bayless is too small. We played an awful lot of Dooling/Bayless and Conley/Bayless last year and it wasn't a problem (well... SIZE wasn't a problem). Teams are moving toward smaller guard rotations anyway, it seems like.

I actually think Jimmer might be a pretty decent fit now that you mentioned Prince playing point. He should be on the bench anyway with Q starting.

Jimmer as the shooter, Prince as the point-forward, and Bayless functioning as the shoot/drive wing isn't the worst unit we could put on the floor.

I do wonder how Jimmer plays on defense against quick guards though.

If there's a way we can stay under the tax line this season while absorbing it then it's not that bad. Next season, 5.9mil expiring is probably a positive trade asset.

As far as I can tell, we'd end up about 2-4 million over, but that's not impossible to shed. We're all sort of bracing ourselves for a Randolph trade anyway.
