Knicks Interested In Chauncey Billups

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jul 9, 2013 12:22 pm

The New York Knicks are pursuing Chauncey Billups.

Billups was amnestied by the Knicks in 2011 to create enough cap space to sign Tyson Chandler.

Billups, however, is unlikely to accept a minimum deal.

How much more money do you need, after 16 seasons in the NBA? smh.

The Knicks always go after the players with known names and big resumes, but usually they are older players that may have deteriorating skills. Developing home grown players is a rarity, since it takes a long time to develop a quality NBA player and the fans judge them as failures if they do not succeed early on. They have Shumpert, who is decent, but that is about all.
