Ed was pretty much the center piece of what the Grizz got back for Rudy. Hollins not developing Ed and not working him into the rotation very likely played into his getting fired. I don't see a trade that would work for both teams.

What if the Raptors offered

NY 2016 1st round pick
2 2nd rounders 2014
Your choice of Novak / Camby / Richardson to make salaries match

I think that would be pretty quickly turned down. The front office here really seems to be bought in to Ed being a likely successor to Zach.

Yup. Raptors have NOTHING on that roster that the Grizzlies would want back.

Well... Valanciunas... but the Raptors are not really interested in moving him and I don't blame them.

Probably if you swap the 2 2nd rounders for T.Ross they'd do it. Ross was the initial target by Memphis, Our ex-GM was an idiot for not trading a wing for a wing, but rather one of our few bigs.

THIS. Honestly believe this guy'll be a legitimate All-Star player, and thought this guy was supposed to be Eddie Winslow's replacement, but perhaps I've missed something. Is he not the long-term answer at the 4?

That was the plan until he disappeared in the playoffs and stopped hustling.

It's troublesome how little Ed Davis produced down the stretch of the regular season and in the playoffs. I really don't think this guy will ever be a quality starter. I'd trade him to unload Prince's contract in return for a nominal asset (like a late 1st).

Please don't discount the situation Ed Davis was put in last year, playing under Hollins. Not to say Davis was unprofessional but there is something to be said for not giving your all when your coach is not a fan in the first place. Yes you can go in the other direction and try to prove him wrong but when the other guy (Arthur) is placed before you and you are clearly better it doesn't give you the best mindset in performing at your best. (Just a thought)

I dont see how Davis is better than Arthur at any aspect of the game besides rebounding.
