Stuckey

Post#1 » by RipCity32 » Wed Jul 10, 2013 2:45 am

With the current roster being at 16 now, it is likely that Siva or English is gone.

Now is it just me or am I the only one who is praying we deal him, because honestly I think I would rather have Siva and English than Stuckey on this team.

Especially after the Smith signing, Stuckey has NO place on this team anymore. All of our guards need to be able to shoot, and they can all do that pretty much aside from him. Stuckey has no jumper at all, which will not spread the court at all for our bigs. And his slashing will not work at all with all our bigs occupying the post. I really feel he is going to hinder the team more than help. The only way you can make the "big ball" work is surrounding the bigs with good jump shooters.

I am going to be really upset if he is on the opening day roster. English and Siva are much harder workers, and the type of guys we should have in our locker room.

Thoughts?

It would be better for Stuckey and the Detroit Pistons to part ways, but Stuckey is much, much better NBA player than Kim English is or ever will be. English hasn't shown anything in his year year or in summer league now, and though the SL counts for little - second year players should look much better than he is. Also his second year is not guaranteed, a decision on it has to be made by Friday - so it's easy to get out of.

I don't think Siva is much of anything either, but if I had to choose between English and Siva, I'd choose to keep Peyton for no other reason than charity. English made mid-six figures last year, Siva can get that pay-off this year. English will probably get picked up by a team with roster spots available, but if not he could carve out a decent career in Europe probably.

I believe most of us have been hoping Stuckey would get dealt ever since he signed his last contract.

I don't think English, Siva, CV-31 or Stuckey have a place on this team.

1. Cut English
2. Send Siva overseas
3. Amnesty CV-31
4. Trade Stuckey to the kings for John Salmons(expiring) & Marcus Thornton & sign Billups.
Then the Kings have enough cap space to sign Monta Ellis.

Knight/Billups/Bynum
Thornton/Pope/Salmons(expiring)
Smith/Singler/Middleton
Monroe/Jerebko/Mitchell
Drummond/Krav

I can't see where stuckey fits into the team.
The only way he could be useful is on a fast paced second unit, but even then he'll only play very limited minutes.
he, pope, cv, middleton and dre/slava could score in a hurry, but looking at the roster that line up will almost never be on the court.
As much of a stuckey fan that i am (i can't really justify it now, but what ever) he looks like he's done here.
sad to see how it all went down.

I'm not even gonna read anything before I post something. I saw "Stuckey" and this is my comment. He needs to go!! I was a Stuckey supporter. Now I really don't like him. I'd rather not see him or CV play on this team next season. I don't care if we trade two expirings for one expiring. I just want to see them go away!

I like Siva more than English. Just by the way they play in SL. I know I'm not supposed to take away too much from SL but I can see Siva plays harder and smarter than English. I like English but what he provides is nothing Middleton can't and any other veteran can't. I'd be happy to get rid of him and sign a veteran FA.

I can live with CV staying on the team ONLY because he's our only stretch 4. I don't like him though. Stuckey really needs to go. Smith does everything in an elite level compared to him. English also needs to go and I hope we don't give him a contract this season. If we can sign a veteran SG or trade for another one, I would be very happy. I still see a couple of moves left for this team and I think it will happen by the start of the season. #1 priority in my opinion is to trade Stuckey for a SG that can actually shoot.

I think RS will be showcased or at least given some early minutes... they shouldn't have a problem dealing him... might take a month or two before teams realize they're better off shedding long term salary.

I hate to pi$$ alot of you off but Stuckey will be the starting shooting guard next season. KCP clearly isn't ready for that roll. He's been bad in the summer league, sorry one game doesn't do it for me. Knight can't go to SG cause we have no PG at that point. I think the SL will be Knight. Stuckey, Smith, Monroe, Drummond with the major reserves being Caldwell Pope, Singler, Demonte, Villanueva, and Bynum. Pistons need to show case Stuckey to get any kind of value. He's only be dealt now for a salary dump but not alot of teams are lookin for that type of deal till the deadline. English most definitely is a goner. I also could see Middleton gone too as he is barried by alot of guys at SF and has shown me enough yet.

So you prefer to trust on his 2 first difficult games more than the 1 good game he had yesterday. You realize it´s just one game differential? More than that, you realize that it´s just Summer League?

I'm ready to ship him out - but I also think he starts at the beginning of the year at least. KCP will probably have to show something to move into the starting lineup.

I heard a guy talk like that last year, about Drummond. His name was Lawrence something or other. He got fired for being an idiot and is now a towel boy for a rookie coach who has no idea what he's doing.

For the sake of this team and the sake of poor Brandon Knight, I hope to hell Stuckey is not or starting SG. Dude is garbage at that position and has no business there. We need another shooter in the the starting lineup with Knight or else he's going to struggle with assists and getting his shot off. Safe to say I'm done with Rodney Stuckey as a Piston and have been for quite a while.

Truth be told, he will probably run the show until Kidd gets a hang on this coaching thing. I agree with everything else you're saying though.

I don't expect Stuckey to be gone anytime soon. I think Joe is going to keep swinging for the fences peddling the CV31/Stuckey $16 mil expirings paired with future picks and a young guy like Singler or Middleton in hopes of landing a 5th starter.

I think the starting 2 is wide open between Stuckey, Singler, KCP & Middleton
