I'm sure under the table deals can be consummated lol

Seriously tho he should take the money we were supposed to give to Boyan with the intention of re-upping after the season like Blatche did.

He'll need to play 2 years for us for early-bird rights, and three for full bird rights. That can't be appealing for him financially.

Speaking of bird rights, does Minny still have his?

They dont really need to tank with all of Dirk, Marion, VC, Calderon and did they actually get Devin Harris as well?

I dont think selling off VC at this stage would make much of a difference.

Sure, I can see why they would think that either A...he is a name on a cheap contract keep him. Or, deal him with Marion as expiring contracts at the trade deadline for a much bigger piece.

Yeah, but we cant put together an S&T for him that would make sense for them really. Spurs just tried and failed. FLip seems to be turning away all S&T's.

I don't think they are attached to VC or anything, but he's a good backup on a cheap contract, why give that up for a trade built around Reggie Evans?

Yeah that's what Ive been saying.

Problem is...not a lot of moves out there I can find where we can salary match up without making someone eat Terry or give up Mirza, Evans and Toko together to get the cash high enough.

I didnt just target VC because of the Nets connection. I also targeted him because the cash matched up for Evans+Toko or TT for VC.

I can dig VC coming back. He was actually a solid defender last year as well IIRC, but he still cheats off his man in the corner way too hard. That always irked me so badly.

Oh, I agree with that. But, depending on what else they are trying to do...they might have interest in a prospect. Evans was the filler. Whether it factors into a three way deal somehow...like say where they land Monta...and gives them an extra prospect to play with. Or, where they look to shave as much as they can.

Do I think its a slam dunk type of deal? No...but I can see it making sense.

I want his set shot and his versatility to play the 1-2-3 spots as needed. Not to mention yet another veteran who doesnt have to learn anything. Just come in and do his job.

Good for us. Good for them. Good for VC.

There has been speculation that Dallas could move Carter and his contract to create room to sign a big man. Carter reportedly signed a three-year deal with the Mavs in 2011 worth just over $9 million.

But Carter squashed that talk Tuesday.

“They're not trading me,” he said. “Not happening. I've already been told that, and it is a great feeling to know that I'm secure. One thing about (the Mavericks), they are straight up and honest, and they will tell you whether they are looking to move you or not. It was a question that was answered with me.

Ken Berger ‏@KBergCBS 2m

.@TrendBasket reports Bojan Bogdanovic is close to a new three-year deal with Turkish club Fenerbahce after his deal with Nets fell through.

Billy got played hard. He really used the Nets as leverage for a new deal.

So screw him. If he wants to play in a lesser league for possible extra cash...that's his business.

I called this yesterday.

I knew something was wrong when Monday and Tuesday passed and nothing happened.

Even though it's super-unlikely, we should make a hard-pitch to AK. Give him a player option for next season, so we can get his bird rights and offer him a lot more to stay going forward.

Dude,

If we pull off AK without a cash offer under the table or one of Proky's Russian mob guys visiting AK for tea...I will be over the moon. I love that guy. He isnt the guy he used to be...but man he would be such a massive get for 3.2mil!

For clarity purposes...

1- No, I dont have a problem with an under the table offer so long as we dont get caught. Not that it would matter. What can the NBA do? Take away our picks for the next 4 years like they did with Joe Smith? I think we took care of that already...lol.

2- Yes, I was implying that a Russian Billionaire most likely made his money involved with a lot of shady people. Ask anyone in finance what it takes to be an Oligarch you will here the same answers.
