I'd keep Siva and cut English, then go after Neal/Morrow/Ellington.

Words can't describe how horrible Stuckey looks as our starting shooting guard when we already have zero range in our front court.

As bad as he was I'd almost be more inclined to start Singler until we think KCP is ready.

My god....

With Gigi on the roster we have 16 players (including the 3 rookies). So we'd have to drop English AND someone else if we wanted to sign another player.

Only chance at this happening was if Dumars' opted for the buy out for $4M, which would have given us another $4.5M under the cap to play with. But I have a sneaking suspicion that Dumars found extreme trouble in getting free agents to come here, so worried about not being able to spend the Stuckey money on an upgrade.

Ah, didn't realize. Forgot about Bynum.

Knight/Bynum/Siva
Stuckey/KCP/Singler
Smith/Datome/Middleton
Monroe/Mitchell/Jerebko/CV
Drummond/Kravtsov

Dropping English.

I like KCP, but it's pretty obvious we still need some help at SG. We really need someone like Orlando to want some cap relief and drop Afflalo for Stuckey or CV, and we throw in the max $3M as well. I'm sure KCP will get better, and i liked the pick considering who was available, but after a few summer league games he doesn't look like instant starter material.

I think English is a goner for sure. Looks terrible in summer league action. Wouldn't be shocked if Demonte plays SG minutes along with Singler. I think we have depth but it's not quality starting.

It's actually a good sign that English gets let go. It means our team is better than last year if guys that were good enough to make it last year are not this year. Evolution :-)

Yeah I guess so. I'm just confused why they took English in the first place. I'd rather have gone the Euro route or trade the pick. I hate wasting picks, even if they are second rounders.

Has anyone looked at our salary cap with the signings to date? By my calcs we are at the cap or just under around $56.725 million (assuming $14,000,000 for smith, $2, 800, 000 for Bynum, $1, 750, 000 for Luigi, and $2, 500, 000 for KCP and $800k each for the 2nd rounders.

Any ideas for likely trade targets? I think Eric Gordon is still a possibility for straight expiring contracts, and expires in 2 years.. Rudy Gay could be another but not likely from recent headlines. Derozan may be more likely to be moved but contract is longer. Jeff Green and Courtney Lee from Boston could be another. Asik and Linn fron Houston are available but might not fit. Any other options?

I think as far as a trade, I think we would go small at this point. Swap out English or Krastov for better versions of them. Courntey Lee for example.

But I really would like to see this team upgrade the bench frontcourt. Assuming Josh is a SF. Drummond and Monroe are backed up by Villanueva, Jebreko, Mitchell, and Krastov. Thats not right at all. Basically its Jonas and the other guy of the day.

I keep hoping the market opens up for teams interested in Stuckey. I'd rather see him moved on and bring in a budget guy like Anthony Morrow, than hang onto Stuckey.

I don't think Smith's cap his will be $14M this season, but will be less to have the maximum raises per season. I wouldn`t sign Siva or Datome just yet either. So we`d probably have around $3M under the cap. If we spend that $3M elsewhere, than we could use the Room MLE to sign Detome still.

Why do I want to keep that $3M open - because the Heat might amnesty Mike Miller, because if they don't he alone by being on their roster will cost them $17M in tax (their total bill would be $33M, 16M if they amnesty Miller). Is Miller worth $17M to the Heat? Possibly given titles make owners a lot of money - but it has to be a tough call.

Here is what joe d had to say about our roster

"We like it but it's not there yet. This is not it. We've got more stuff to do. We'll continue throughout the whole summer trying to squeeze the roster and make sure the roster is exactly like want it going into the season. "

"We'll still have a little over $4 million of cap space left and we'll keep working."

I can't wait to see what other moves we make.

Knight/Bynum
Stuckey/KCP/Billups/Singler
Smith/Datome/Middleton
Monroe/Mitchell/Jerebko/CV
Drummond/Kravtsov

English is certainly gone.
Siva appears to be going to Europe.
Other possibilities: trade Stuckey or amnesty CV

Keep CV. His 3 point shooting is very valuable to this team, and he's an expiring contract.
