Corey Maggette says he'd play for the Lakers for the minimum

Was on ESPN710, apparently his brother heard them talking about him and got him to call in. Here's an article about it on Lakerholicz that just went up.

If you talk about the Lakers…that would definitely be a huge plus, man. You can’t beat playing for one of the greatest organizations in basketball, having an opportunity to play with Kobe and the guys that they have on there.
Of course I’d do it for the minimum. If you have an opportunity to play with that team? Definitely.

Hell yea Mitch sign him!!hes good defender and can make his shots!!sadly he's just been on horrible teams every year!he will play for vet min that's solid.get him and LO!do it Mitch!

I never understood why Detroit didn't play him at all last year. He still has game and is pretty strong.

He could score 6 or 7 ppg off the bench.

Too talented of a player for our tank. We need to get a legit tank commander, maybe that's what Sacre is for.

Wrong. Maggette is a horrible defender and NO he doesn't make his shots especially his three pointers. His shots are flat. His game is based on driving to the basket and hoping for a foul call. And his passing? Well, ask any teams that he played for, he doesn't look to pass the ball :lol:

He would be great for u guys as a 6th man of the bench if u need scoring especially when Kobe gets some rest, but I don't think if he has anything left.

Same reason they stopped playing Rip, Charley, and wanted to cut Tay and Maxiell out. They don't want to try to win, and for some reason they have a bunch of the same pieces thanks to Dumars. :lol:

I,would take him. He scored petty well historically and always could draw free throws good while keeping a top shape body. As a sub he is better than Ebanks and an actual sf

Maggette was hurt I believe at some point in the past two years, didn't play much for DET because they wanted to develop the young kids over there. I wouldn't mind him.

i'd be surprised if he was in the NBa next yr. he can't defend, he can't pass, he can't shoot. only thing good about him was his ability to iso drive and draw fouls, but now that he's getting up there in age he can't even do that too well.
