AWESOME move! This is a brilliant step in the right direction, and could be a huge underrated boost to our team in the long run, and in integral part in developing our players, finding players who'll fit the program to get diamonds in the rough, and forming an identity.

LOVE IT!

If used properly this is a major advantage over most teams in the NBA.

my initial thoughts/questions.

1. How many other teams operate a D-league team as the Kings now will?

2. too bad Vivek couldn't buy. Have no clue if its possible but moving the D-league team here would be cool.

I think about 13 in general have exclusive rights - 6 others have 'hybrid' agreement where the team pays for and manages the basketball operations, and the current owner/management of the D-League team does the off the court stuff.

In the tweet it says Vivek would have an option to buy, though.

This move continues to demonstrate Vivek's all-in! I haven't been this excited for a Kings season in I don't know how long. Feels good to have an owner who wants to win.

I like it. Hopefully this means we can use our d league team to the same effect as the Rockets.

It bugged me when guys like Whiteside and Honeycutt weren't able to get minutes for development because the Bighorns were playing for wins.

Totally agree this could be a really underrated move. A great way to develop young talent if done correctly.

This is probably the first move all offseason that everyone likes!

But...but...I thought Vivek was too broke!

It's a good move and really shows that Vivek is really serious about turning this thing around. It's not only a good way to develop and evaluate player talent, but for the coaching staff as well. It's also a good way to further establish a Kings fanbase in Nevada.

Start McCallum here while we raise the value of Jimmer and MT.
