Ha are you finished yet? Got it out of your system?
BTW the Spurs traded us 2 1st rounders (who became Lee/Mardy) and Malik Rose for Nazr Mohammed. It worked out for them though as they won a ring that year.
You dont like Bargs, but stop cherry picking the few great players picked late in the draft as if that proves anything. We could probably buy a late 1st/early 2nd no problem in 2016 as long as we keep our 3 mill so its not even an issue. We've done well with overseas and undrafted guys too. Waiting 3 more years on a hope a 20-30th pick can become Ginobili or Rondo, who both took years to develop on top of it, is not realistic. Bargs can help us now.
I'm cherry picking because currently the most successful teams in the league built their team on draft picks (Heat had Wade, Spurs...you know).
Yeah they can buy draft picks, but they wouldn't have to if they didn't trade theirs. If the Knicks end up doing that, it would just be "dead cap space" they give up because of how they didn't have to.
I'm trying to say that the Knicks didn't give up trash. Anyway, the Knicks do solid on undrafted free agents/overseas guys, but those guys aren't starter material. Prigs and Copeland are bench players. C.J. Leslie is probably going to be a bench player as well.
I feel like draft picks have a higher ceiling than that. I'd easily rather put my faith in a 20-30 pick and a few 2nd rounders than Bargs.
Oh so all we need is the 1st pick and we can get Duncan! Damn! Or a top 5 pick to get Wade! Yay! Didnt know we traded a top 5 pick, but hey I guess anything can happen.
You know Bargs was picked first, and even if hes become somewhat of a bust hes still a top 5 player from that draft because of how weak it was. Not every draft is going to be good.
You're a skipping cracking broken record at this point.
Or all you need are some picks to stockpile assets and trade the for an actual secondary scorer.....
