I got a feeling the Bobcats gon end up with Monta some how. I can see it. Soon as they said they were talking with Jefferson, I knew they were going to get him also.

What would it take for MJ to fire Rod Higgins?! :banghead:

Starting salary of 7.5M is more than anyone here expected. Given 7.5% raises, that's a contract of roughly 7.5/8/8.5/9 - 4/33M. Gerald is trying to get too much money. Nobody is offering him that.

We can offer a contract of roughly 6.5/7/7.5/8/8.5 for an average of $7.5M a year. Gerald is going to have to change his demands.

Henderson is NOT worth 7.5 a year. Period.

Not as a starting salary. If this was about a contract average of 7.5M a year then it's a legit argument but Gerald is looking for a STARTING SALARY of 7.5-8.5, which is likely going up over the course of the contract. You can argue whether Hendo is worth 7, but we'd be looking at 9M+ in the final years of that deal, which is where it becomes a bigger contract than Tyrus.

Gerald is not getting a deal longer than 2 years if he's looking to make 7.5+ next year.

I'd rather have Ellis at 9/27 than Henderson at anything starting at 7.5

Ellis is a much better asset than Henderson.

Arguable. Eventually teams are going to start noticing Ellis is a team-killer.

Like I said though, Hendo isn't going to get the money he wants. There is no one in the league who is going to give him that money, although Mark Cuban has been pretty weird and unpredictable this summer.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Bucks give Henderson a look at the three. We're running out of options fast there.

Didn't you guys just draft Giannis Adaaklfajroeirkldnamfombo?

I doubt Hendo is an all-time SF. He's barely 6'5.

He can play SF for maybe 6-8 minutes a game

That's what scares me. As far as Giannis is concerned. I don't think anyone has any illusions about whether he's ready or not. The reasons Henderson might be viewed as an option for us, even at his size, are as follows. One, Henderson has tremendous length for the shooting guard position with a with a 6'10"+ wingspan. He's a stronger guard. I'm not sure if this was the case or not, but 82games.com has 24% of Henderson's playing time at the small forward position where his opponent PER sits at a respectable 15.1. And last but not least, we've got A LOT of length in our frontcourt between Sanders, Henson, and Udoh to help make up for the defensive shortcomings. He's probably a better option than Delfino.

We couldnt even get a first rounder out of Henderson at the trade deadline. He's not worth nearly what he wants. Cho knows this.

I know he isn't worth what hes asking and I hope he accepts the deal we already laid out for him. I really really don't want Monta Ellis. I feel like he would kill the production of our guys. Not to mention how expensive he is.

He's close to the same ball park as what Henderson is wanting. Plus he's a much better asset.

Not at all, the reason hes still on the market is because he over values himself. I'd put Hendo at a better asset than Monta. We know Hendo wants to be here, he has a great work ethic and works well with this team. Who knows how Monta would change this team. And its not like we can sign and trade later because I doubt anyone wants him for what hes asking. Just a bad move all around imo.

Henderson is definitely not a better asset than Ellis.

I'm warming to the idea of Taylor starting, lets see what he's got, also means we keep the tank going.

I wouldn't freak too much about this news. No one else is going to sign Hendo for that either. I suspected that this was the reason things were so quiet a while back ... and still think that this just means Hendo signs the QO. That way he isn't restricted next year. Only downside is that his trade value will go down a bit since everyone will have an idea of what his agent is shooting for long term.

And while he isn't worth that number long term now, if he really does become a 3 point shooter he might come close.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
