Post#1 » by kurtis48239 » Thu Jul 11, 2013 12:56 pm

So far joe has signed smith, billups, bynum, euro guy and iam sure he isnt done yet,but what grade do you give him considering we all were expecting the worst.I give him an A+ and he is starting to build a playoff team. When I look back at the last 3yrs and now what we have,it has really BLOWN MY MIND.

He did good. It all started with us drafting KCP and Mitchell that spiraled into the best he can do for FA.

I give him a B+ to an A-

What is our rotation right now? Feels like Joe D certainly has better players in the starting lineup and better players in our bench rotation this year... but we really still need to add one more piece to our regular rotation IMO we're not quite there.

PF:Monroe
SF:Smith
SG:KCP?
PG:Knight

2nd unit
C:Monroe/Drummond
PF:Smith/Jonas/Mitchel

I feel like if Stuckey is here he will play SG and could even start. He's not going to not bust his ass in contract year and just sit on the sidelines out of the rotation.

KCP might be the odd man out.

Other than English, who I assume will be cut, am I leaving anyone out? Feels like I am.

Can't judge quite yet because I still feel there's a trade that's about to happen, and he has to drop a few people. But as of right now I'd give him a B+ or A-. This is the most excited I've been about the Pistons in a long time (possibly ever as I didn't start seriously following until the playoffs of 07-08). I can't wait for the season to begin.

Where is Stuckey? Like I said before this is a contract year for him... he's not going to be happy out of a regular rotation he's playing for 10s of millions of dollars.

I assumed he left Stuckey out on purpose.

I would give Joe an S- Poor group of players, with horrible spacing.

I didn't leave anyone off on purpose, it's just still really early.

With Stuckey and Luigi, we're at 16 contracts. Still expecting Stuckey and/or another player to get moved. Still bad news for Siva though.

So far its been a a very interesting offseason. Some moves i've liked, some i haven't and some i'm still unsure.
By the looks of it, Joe is still making moves, so i'll hold off grading joe til he's done.

If Joe can manage to land a starting 2 guard that can shoot in exchange for Stuckey then I'll say he gets an A for the off season

I think Joe needs to make a trade or two. Hopefully Middleton for future seconds? I give him a B+. HE upgraded the SF spot, added shooters (Billups and KCP), and added bigs (Mitchell). Should be nice to see how he finishes. I think this is a playoff team now.

A solid B+.

While a bad fit, Joe Smith is perhaps the best FA to come to a losing Detroit team in my lifetime.
KCP is somewhat disappointing, considering we were 1 slot away from McLemore, but he's a good fit.
Mitchell was a great 2nd round pick.
Billups is a tremendous addition to our locker room.
Luigi is a creative Boom/Bust move.
We did all this without spending too much.

I've talked myself into a high A-.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

A+ for Billups alone.

Signed arguably the most talented FA in Josh Smith. Took KCP who can be a good SG, Mitchell will be the steal of the draft. Billups/Datome/Will also signed.

Good job Joe.

Ask me after he packaged Stuckey/Singler/English in a trade and who we get in return.
