I got a feeling the Bobcats gon end up with Monta some how. I can see it. Soon as they said they were talking with Jefferson, I knew they were going to get him also.

Obviously all speculation, but what if the Bobcats are looking at it from this angle?

If Henderson wants a starting salary of at least 7.5 million, and nothing less, and they have been negotiating for weeks, then perhaps they are looking at Ellis for that range. In other words, they have set there limit on Henderson (which is good), and said, "Hey, Ellis for 7.5 starting is worth it".

Would any of you really be extremely disappointed if we were to get Ellis for what Henderson is reportedly asking for? I mean I know what Ellis' reputation is, but there are scenarios that could be really beneficial to us. Obviously a defensive back-court of Kemba and Ellis would not be ideal, but I do feel that Kemba and Ellis would be a good fit together and with Jefferson down-low. We'll see what happens, but for the right money, I would not be upset at all with an Ellis signing. Although, it would certainly be a Higgins move.

I wonder what teams we are talking to about a Henderson S&T, and what is being discussed.

When it leaks as to what teams we are discussing S&T, then we can speculate on who we might be interested in. Wondering if the name Eric Gordon is coming up?

If it is in fact a Higgins move to go after Ellis, instead of Henderson... there is definitely conflict of power in our FO. Cho has a plan to rebuild, and by bringing in Ellis that would just put us back on the treadmill/border line playoff team. So essentially, all the strategic moves Cho have been making leading up to this point is useless if we end up with Ellis/Jefferson on long term contracts.

I much rather have Henderson than Ellis for the same price, just bc Hendo fit the culture and is a good teammate.

You would think with Evans aboard now. I'd rather have Gordon over Ellis. Henderson over both though. If we did get Ellis or Gordon, are we now so good we lose our 1st to the Bulls?

Gordon is a vastly superior player to Hendo and fits our team quite nicely.

How does moving one SG for another help them out tho? They won't pay Hendo that money to be a 6th man

NBA Salary Cap $58.679 Million for 2013-14

Cap is about $600k higher then expected, not much but noteworthy. Also noteworthy is that there's no mention of a McBob signing yet - probably because it looks like we simply can't with Hendo's cap hold (and based on my numbers, releasing Adrien wouldn't help that). I've got us at about $1.6m under the cap with Hendo's cap hold and McBob's deal outstanding, so we'd need Hendo to take a little under $6.7m his first year (not per year, first year can be lower) in order to officially sign McBob. Don't see any way we give Ellis anything close to what he wants (barring S&T).

McRoberts' cap hold is bigger than his new salary, there is no tiem to wait really, if we are using bird rights exception on him.

He's not vastly superior, not anymore at least. I'd rather have Hendo for a full season making ~$8 mil versus Gordon for a half season making max money

He is still superior. I hate his contract but let's not fall in love with the Hendo we saw at the end of the season either. I don't think he will ever shoot a high percentage on a decent amount of attempts from range in how career.

The way I see it he has close to maxed out his potential.

Hendo's not exactly durable himself. Not saying he's as bad as Gordon in that aspect but its a factor

Sure he is. So is a healthy Brandon Roy. Would you rather have him too?

I'm a huge Gordon fan but I'm not taking on that salary for him to miss half the season.

Hendo has appeared in 83% of games in the past three years. Gordon? 46%

You're right, it's definitely a factor--in Hendo's favor

Just curious, is Henderson strictly a 2 guard, or could he play some small forward? Looking at his dx profile, it looks like he has a 6'11 wingspan, so it seems big enough to play the 3.

Who would you compare him to?

he can definitely play SF. his game is strange to compare to anyone honestly. people always laugh but his game is basically like Kobe. just a way crappier version. he comes off screens for mid range catch and shoots, he posts up for turn around fadeaways from 10-15 feet. everything he does is very difficult and he is remarkably skilled from 10-18 feet. when his mid range shot is really on its amazing to watch him hit shot after shot from 18 feet no matter what the d does he struggles with the easy stuff. pretty clutch. not accurate from 3 at all even set open ones, though he showed some improvement this year.his defense is decent but seems to have gotten worse than when he was a hungry rook. his ballhandling is weak and he does not drive well at all. durability is questionable and he has chronic bulging disc and hip issues.

It's too bad the Pelicans tied up their pick with the Sixers. I'd take on Eric Gordon for Ben Gordon if we got a pick. If it's between Ellis and Eric Gordon I go with Ellis because he's healthy and I'd want to get something for my money.

Henderson's agent must think he has a market outside the qualifying offer.

We'll see about that.

Man, I don't want Monta, but I don't not want Monta as much as some of you all. (If that makes sense). I'd rather keep Hendo, I'd rather start Taylor/BG, but if we DO get Monta, one thing is for sure. I'm going to abandon this board for around a week. Hopefully then I would miss the initial rage/this franchise sucks talk and most of you all be in the process of convincing yourselves that perhaps this was a good move.

What do I think replacing Hendo with Monta would do? Put more points on the board for us, decrease blowouts, add an exciting player to watch, hurt our backcourt defense, take away production from our young guys, less touches for big Al, slightly lower next years draft pick, most likely barely miss the playoffs but MAYBE make them this season.

Is it worth it? No, it's not, but for Hendo money it wouldn't be the WORST thing this franchise does.
The Lamb flock's vision has come true.

So OKC just got a 7 million trade exception, wonder if they are interested in Hendo.

I'd do Hendo + POR pick for Lamb and a contract.
