Kobe needs to bulk up almost at Lebron's physique and play SF full time. that added mass will make him unstoppable at the post. not sure if the added weight is healthy for his foot though.

Dave McMenamin clarified his earlier tweet on kobe's comeback:

http://sulia.com/channel/la-lakers/f/20 ... ce=twitter

"I could shoot right now, but we just don’t trust that the tendon’s holding yet," Bryant said. "Typically it’s four months minimum (after surgery) until the tendon is holding and it’s not going to overstretch, so, we’ll just wait until that window."

Bryant is targeting mid August to "to be more active with conditioning."

The good news is that we brought in an excellent backup so Kobe won't need to carry such a huge load and play so many minutes. Oh what's that? We didn't? Uh-oh. It amazes me that Kobe going into his 18th season and coming off a major injury doesn't really have a suitable backup. Signing a SG/SF over Kaman should have been the priority in my opinion.

Well,he said he'll be able to do "full activity",not that he will be back 100%....full activity I think means conditioning, strenghtening that leg as much as he can ,etc etc.....ways to go until he's 100% and in game shape

It's been 3 months since the injury,he plans to wait 1 more month and then go from there...

Season starts in late october,so he'll have 2.5 months to get ready....not sure myself if he'll be ready by game 1 but with the way he's evolving, can't see him missing more than a month of the RS as a worst case scenario

Tony, bring the tank to Christmas so he can shove it up Dwight's ass on national tv

I hope so. Lets hope he doesn't come back to early and gets hurt again.

he just needs to be awesome by the end of the season if he thinks he's not taking a pay cut.

Shaq said it himself. Kobe does two or three a day treatment and rehab sessions whereas other people do one or two. Not surprising just Kobe being Kobe

I'm really not surprised, we've all known how obsessed Kobe is with physical fitness and how much he takes his job seriously. All the injuries he's played through over his career, something like this he will have so much time to rehab shouldn't be a problem. I don't think he comes back 100% ( one can argue he hasn't been in a long time, playing without cartilage, fingers, knees etc) but I do think he plays all season.

I wouldn't be shocked if its sort of like 06-07. Kobe skipped preseason and the first two games to make sure he was fully right. He still practiced with the team but he spent more time preparing before he took the court,

No surprise, I am not going to wax poetic about the Kobster, but did anyone expect anything less??

I will miss the power of his focus & passion when he does decide to hang it up. He will come back right on track.
Ball so hard.
