@Chris_Broussard
Source: ATL will not do sign-&-trade for Monta Ellis or Brandon Jennings. ATL will either match Bucks' offer to Jeff Teague or let him walk

Someone should tell Chris that you can't do a S&T once the offer sheet is signed.

We won't get a top pick with Horford/Millsap/Korver/Lou Will

That's why I think Ferry will trade Millsap and Korver by the trading deadline.

I think he'll trade Horford first who is way more valuable. Millsap can be moved next offseason, and Korver is being paid slightly above league average so you can't get much out of him.

I agree with you, hawks have no need to match this offer at all. Let Lou start, and ease the rookie in as the season goes on. Sign some depth, fill out the roster to reach min salary if needed. Even if it's Monta haveitall on a huge one year deal.

some of your standards are really high. 15/7/1.5 steals is very good from your point guard and he's still very young, and has some near elite athleticism for a point guard.

Teague is not that young and he's maybe the 25th best PG in the NBA. This kind of deal kills you. Signing an average player to 50% of a max contract.

okay now you're underrating him. He's not that bad, i'd say he's slightly above average. He's like 13 or 14, definitely outside the top 10.

The fact that Ferry overpaid Korver and gave him 4 years makes me think that his goal is to just try to win as many games as possible now and that he's incompetent. If he doesn't match this offer sheet I'd be scared that he overpays Monta, Jennings or Mo.

There direction is pretty clear. Depth of mediocre players and try to get the 6th seed. Binge resting strategy, lets see how it pans out.

I hope that is not the case. Only a cheap deal to Mo Williams just to have a veteran point guard to help mentor the rookie makes sense to me. We need to tank as a team to get a lottery pick this year. Not waste a chance to get a superstar by watching a 40-45 team get put out in the first round again.

In a weak Eastern Conference, I do not see how this team will not be fighting for the 7th/8th seed, provided their key players (Milsap, Horford, Korver and Williams) remain healthy (even if they elect not to match the offer sheet given to Teague). I see this team in that high 30's low 40's win range. I'd imagine Danny wants to add a vet pg to the roster before easing in Schröder into the starting lineup.

Exactly, especially Korver, who will have the highest trade value when the deadline comes around. every playoff team will try to get him, because they will think he is the missing piece for a title run.

Ferry's plan of acquiring tradeable assets became obvious with the Millsap signing.

The Bucks will trade Henson for Korver to solidify that 8th seed

I like it for the Bucks, considering what they're trying to do. He should be a good fit next to OJ. Much better than BJ would.

How is Hammond going to overpay Jennings when the market for his services is nearly dead? Who is going to offer him a contract at this point if Atlanta matches for Teague?

melo mvp 15 wrote:Once he signs that offer sheet he can't be signed and traded. He's either a Buck by straight up free agency (no sign and trade... so no Jennings, Ellis or TPE for Atlanta) or a Hawk by being matched. I'm actually really surprised because I thought Atlanta would want to get Ellis or Jennings and this would've made it very easy (at least in Jennings' case). I'd let him go if I was Atlanta, Teauge is a nice player but he's an average starting PG and this is too much money for that.

At least with Jennings you have that special scoring ability that gives him a little more potential IMO. Maybe Atlanta didn't work out a sign and trade because they think they can get Jennings from an offer sheet now that Milwaukee has a new PG.

Jennings' scoring ability is special like the Special Olympics are special.

Hammond himself? Just from I've read, Jennings wants 12M and the Bucks are willing to go 10-11M. I was always under the impression that Jennings means a lot to the franchise (or at least your team management). So maybe they want to avoid him taking the QO?
