Kidd being a boss already

Stefan Bondy @NYDNInterNets

Jason Kidd said he will strongly discourage his players from complaining to referees about calls. #antiKnicks

Let's see how that works with Paul and KG.

Thank God this scrub is off the Knicks!

Ason Kidd the wife beater won't do anything to change the losing culture of the Nyets. Another dumb move by the stupid Russian. 40-42 and another first round exit. Sorry  .

I know you are nothing more than a meaningless troll but I'm bored. So, let's be real:

You have the worst playoff percentage player in Carmelo who is hoisting a 22-42 playoff record. You have a coach who has never gotten anywhere BUT the 2nd round with his basic and iso filled offense, you have a overpaid Tyson Chandler who has done jack in the playoffs, the Knicks 2nd best player is JR Smith aka. Mr. Inefficiency. You have NO credibility and to have the audacity to post here with that garbage acquisition your front office pulled off named Andrea Bargnani who is by far the biggest bust the league has seen since Kwame Brown. You are in no position to come to our board and troll. How old are you? 12? Well, the Knicks JUST popped your Knicks fandom virginity of seeing something out of the 1st round. Sit down, and know your place and crawl back into that hole you came out of to post this weak attempt at trolling.

Our most frustrating seasons to endure finished with 49 wins while your BEST season in 13 years is 54 wins and that is a 5 game separation.

Well, you have to admit that the your showing in the Playoffs last year was pretty embarrassing, considering your guys showed absolutely no heart, and the Knicks, while not playing their best ball were gritty enough to make it deep into round 2. Can we at least agree on that?

Losing in the 2nd round to an underdog is gritty?

The Knicks were barely better than the Nets last year, and are now clearly worse than the Nets. The Nets last year did something the Knicks took 11 years to do...win a playoff game.

Why is it that its always the Knicks fans making these kind of awful troll posts? No other fanbase does it as consistently as theirs.

Jason Kidd is one of the greatest point guards ever.

Yet the future Hall of Famer said Friday that Deron Williams is a better player than he was.

“He’s better than me. I mean, he can shoot,” the new Nets coach replied when asked if he saw himself in Williams. “He’s a guy who can set the table, get to the basket. He can score. I don’t look at him as me. Again, he’s a little bit better than I am.”

I just took it to mean that D-Will is better than Jason Kidd right now, because the quote only employs the present tense.

You do realize that it was the first year of the team as it was constructed? Chemistry has an effect on a team especially during the playoffs.

I seem to recall Melo's first year with the Knicks in the playoffs they got swept by the C's. 2nd year they managed to win a game against the Heat and then win a playoff series last season. Continuity plays a huge role in this argument.

Next season I expect the Nets to improve on their playoff showing since they kept their core players around, rookie head coach or not.

Oh and gritty? This team has their best chance of winning a title last season and blew it.

Now fans are clamoring to trade Tyson Chandler even being their ONLY defensive anchor. And their pining their hopes on Bargnani, and he's not even the best Italian in the NBA.

Now Melo is forced to play the 3, which, let's face it, isn't his strongest suit. You guys are still stuck with Amare's contract and you have no quality depth behind your oft-injured players.

We're adding another strong piece to Kidd's staff apparently.

Tim Bontemps @TimBontemps

John Welch sat next to Kidd on the bench the whole game and was involved in every huddle. Expecting him to eventually be named to staff.

Stefan Bondy @NYDNInterNets

Strong indications here that the Nets are adding former Nuggets assistant John Welch will be joining Kidd's staff. He was on bench 2night.

8:24 PM - 7 Jul 2013

Welch has been George Karl's righthand man in Denver for the better part of a decade. In a profile earlier this season, Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post described Welch as "the Nuggets' secret weapon, a workout wizard, an eternal gym rat, George Karl's consigliere."

Masai Ujiri, then Nuggets GM is quoted this way by Hochman: "I don't want to talk about him — because I don't want any other team to take him. He's the best, he's the best in the NBA, there's no doubt about it. No disrespect to anybody, but he's the best player development coach in the NBA. He takes basketball seriously — his work, his trade."
If he has a specialty, adds Hochman, it's point guard development.

^Don't forget to post the link/source where you got the quoted commentary from (i.e. the paragraph outside of the tweets).

He remind me of my high school basketball coaches.

He's calling out everything the players supposed to do which let's the opposition know what you're running. Maybe that's why we've lost all of our games.

But on a more serious note, he looks pretty confident and composed. He's still a little quiet but I'm sure he'll learn to pick his spots where to actually say something. At this rate, he'd lose his voice by training camp lol.
