Did they sign him for the minimum?

I believe so....which isn't bad for instant offense, albeit stupid instant offense.

Really? That actually surprises me, Ruz..

I never have processed Monte Ellis as a Buck. I think of him as he was with the Warriors, sort of an Allen Iverson kind of player. Snow was Iverson's PG. Baron Davis was Monte's.

That Ellis was more effective at PG in Milwaukee also surprises me because Jennings is their PG.

You weren't the only one either.

And you might put this next to your thought that the Magic has too much young talent. Hennigan is a young Darryl Morey.

Noted.

I don't want to hate on anyone, but I feel like the Wizards better bust a move this season yet still make sure Grunfeld moves on. I feel like Detroit's GM and Orlando's GM and Milwaukee's GM are "playing chess" while Ernie's never going to put the checkerboard away.

Hennigan is a protege of Morey, uh oh. :-? Thanks, pif.

My thoughts exactly that he's going to get paid back in Russia and I don't think the NBA will ever be able to find out.

I'm not sure if it's a good deal or not. Wojo words it like this:
Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Bynum's deal will include $12 million in guaranteed money over two seasons and $6 million in Year 1. The Cavaliers hold an option for Year 2 worth $12.5 million.

So it's $6M in Year 1 and a $12.5M option in Year 2. But since it's guaranteed for $12M over the course of 2 years, it sounds to me like there's a $6M buyout for Year 2.

Is that such a great contract? It's locking in a $6M cap hit next year even if he never gets healthy and plays well again.

Washington should at least put an inquiry in to the status of Greg Oden's health. Give him a similar but much, much less lucrative, incentive-laden deal.

Might be able to sign him for an obscenely low figure in terms of guaranteed money.

Having that 6 mil buyout option is a good thing for Cleveland - not a bad thing - especially since most NBA contracts are fully guaranteed. V and Thompson are very good hard-nosed players to go with Bynum up front. Where they skewed up is picking Bennett. Porter may or may not be a better player than Bennett, but Porter would be a much better fit for them than Bennett, because they have nothing but journeymen at the 3. If they picked Bennett because they think that gives them a better chance to get Lebron, I think they f'd up. Picture Cleve with an in-shape Bynum and Porter instead of Bennett. That team would have a chance to develop into the 2nd best team in the East. And they could still move one of their bigs for a 3, so they have a chance to build a contender.

On draft night when they picked Bennett my immediate thought was he's their future Lebron trade pick.

A Cavs executive also told beat writer Jason Lloyd that both of Bynum's knees are "not good." This deal could work out in the end, but it's certainly not getting off to a good start.

That's from rotoworld who quoted an article. Big risk, I'm willing to say there's a 90% chance this isn't going to work out.

I'm not completely sold on Milwaukee. The team won 38 games last season. Signing Zaza and Mayo doesn't exactly move the needle much. Teague would be a good move, but why is Atlanta letting him go? They have all this cap space and are letting their starting point guard leave?

Only team that I do a double take on is Cleveland, but just like the Wizards, they have to bank on health in order to make the playoffs.

He's severely out of shape. A bad knee + overweight = not good.

Nor will they even try... I can't believe they will get to play Pierce and Kirilenko 24 min each at SF. That just isn't right.
