Not the worst idea. If there isn't a way to land a substantial upgrade at guard, I'd just roll with this roster and unload some of the excess for a backup big with an expiring contract.
I kind of like this roster as is and would like to give them a shot before committing to anyone else unless its an obvious starting upgrade.

It sucks because he's a good guy but it's business
Here's hoping he latches on somewhere else...

My sentiments exactly. Maybe he can catch on with another team looking to fill out their roster? If not, there's always overseas.
Looks like Siva is the most likely the get the ax next, barring an unforeseen trade.

Not really a surprise. I had hope cuz of his shot and work ethic, but not a lot of second rounders make it.

I like his attitude but alas, he was the clear expendable one. Though I wish we could have shipped CV out before him.

I'm wondering if Siva didn't agree to go overseas for this year before the draft. He'll be hard pressed to get pt with Knight/Billups/Bynum/Stuckey in the fold.

English will blossom in one of the european leagues, he has good fundamentals and the game is slower, the players are much less athletic, it will fit his style more.

Re: Kim English released
Nice kid but limited talent. It just never worked out here. Blame Frank or Joe but he was a second rounder without a lot of hype. Thought we had better options at the time of picking him. Oh well.

Re: Kim English released
For a italian newspaper, Virtus Roma is interested in Kim English. Why, for you guys, his % by 3ps has been so horrid in the 2012/13 season and in this summer league? He is an athletic player that can't shoot?
Thanks
Thanks

Kim isn't athletic, he is resilient and competitive. He doesn't jump extremely high or run with blinding speed. For spots last year he was in and out of the lineup. He had a rotation in the D-League where he ran point guard for a bit. During that time he was more productive than his more talented counterpart (Khris Middleton). Kim just figures out ways to be effective, unfortunately he didn't figure it out quick enough last year.
Kim is tough. He works hard and goes to war out there on the floor. I remember a game against the Lakers last year where he got tangled up with Kobe and didn't back down. Kobe gave him tons of credit for being willing to battle him.
With little time in overseas competition he should develop and become a serviceable pro.

I agree with you here but English will be nothing but a journey man at best in the NBA if he makes it back. I just didn't see enough to show me the other. He was a second rounder and it shocked me when Joe D took him. I didn't see the fit and didn't think he brought enough at the time. I think he shoulda been in the D-League developing his game. It is one thing that has made me mad with Joe D. He needs to have the 14 and 15th guys in the d-league. I really hope Mitchell and Siva start there this year.

I don't disagree with you, in fact as I characterize him as a "solid pro" I'm equating that with journey man. A sort of Keith Bogans level player.

Agreed but the last thing the Pistons needed at the time was another Keith Bogans. I just wish Joe D took a shot on a seven footer or another big at the time.
