despite his inconsistency and questionnable shot selections, you can't deny his hard work and drive to do whatever it takes to contribute. remember how optimistic we were when he trimmed down and transformed back to Indiana Artest weight? respect.

All love for MWP on this end. Knows the meaning of a true Laker. One of the all time moments in Laker history when he knocked down that 3 in Game 7.

Re: Lakers amnesty World Peace (Pg. 10)
This sucks. Kobe needs help because you know he's coming back with a vengeance this season, and they get rid of the only player who brings a similar level of intensity? He's the enforcer of the team! I hate Jim Buss.
I hope he gets his wish though and gets to go to the Knicks...he's always wanted that. I'd prefer he goes there than anywhere else...as a Knick fan as well, I'd love to have him. Prefer him watching Kobe's back though. Let's just hope teams with cap don't screw with him, and claim him. Wouldn't be right.

I doubt any die-hard Lakers fan would say "good riddance" but I'm sure there are many happy to see the team move forward.
Sometimes being wrong is awesome!!!

Their chances are still slim as hell. ...they'd have to wait for teams under the cap to fade out or not bid on him.dockingsched wrote:Kilroy wrote:KnicksManiac wrote:
Thanks. Knicks fans are watching this very closely.
Why? Knicks are over the cap and can't claim him off of waivers anyway.
i'd be shocked if anyone claimed him and once he clears waivers he's almost assuredly going to the knicks if they want him

I think the Cavs will get him with a bid, they need a SF and he's familiar with Mike Brown+Bynum

Re: Lakers amnesty World Peace (Pg. 10)
reminds me of Fox, rather retire than play for another team.espite coming off a resurgent season in which he averaged 12.4 points [up from 7.7 in 2011-12] and 5.0 rebounds [up from 3.4] and improved his shooting percentages from the floor, the 3-point line and the foul line, the 14-year veteran said he wants to "just explore something else."
World Peace met with Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak on Friday and said there were no hard feelings.
"It was an extra $24 million that was going to have to come from a family-owned business," World Peace said, referring to the approximate total of what it would cost the Lakers to pay his salary, plus luxury taxes in 2013-14, if they did not amnesty him.
"I'm really close with the [Buss] family, so I would not want the family-owned business to have to come out of pocket like that. So, I definitely supported the decision."
World Peace said when he heard rumors earlier in the week that he would be amnestied, he reached out to Kupchak immediately with an alternative plan to keep him in L.A.
"I said, 'Mitch, I want to come back and coach this year,'" World Peace said. "That was the first thing I texted Mitch. I said, 'Don't worry about it.' I said, 'I understand what you have to do and I would love to help the young guys. I want to coach. I want to help y'all win a championship.'"

That said I would love him on a coaching staff. He is a great practice body. And lord knows he could be helpful as a one on one defensive coach who focuses not watching young guys how to D up and improve.
