Simple Trade to bring us a back-up C

Post#1 » by DetroitDon15 » Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:06 pm

Detroit Gets:
C Bismack Biyombo

Charlotte Gets:
F Kyle Singler

We cut down our depth at the wing position while adding a back-up center who can rebound and block shots behind Drummond:

G Brandon Knight / Will Bynum / Peyton Siva
G Chauncey Billups / Kentavious Caldwell-Pope / Rodney Stuckey
F Josh Smith / GiGi Datome / Jonas Jerebko
F Greg Monroe / Charlie Villanueva / Tony Mitchell
C Andre Drummond / Bismack Biyombo / Slava Krastov

Would be awesome if CHA accepts the offer, though.

There's no chance of that happening.
Also we have Drummond, Monroe and Slava at C. I don't think a third string center is much of a priority.

I would love to buy low on Biyombo.

It's what I was thinking. I was hoping to do the same with Oden but we have no roster space right now.

Not sure what his asking price is- but waive Slava and sign Greg Oden for the 2.5ish million exception for two years. Drummond and Monroe will still get the bulk of minutes at the 5, but he would be a reasonable risk at that price.

I seriously doubt they'd sell this low on Biyombo, even with Jefferson in the fold.

Jefferson is like the worst defensive center in the game.

I would as well. I think we have to use the room exception on Datome since we used all our cap space on Bynum (renounced and resigned), Josh Smith, and Billups. Hopefully I'm wrong there. Hopefully Siv goes overseas so we don't have to lose his rights, allah Singler.

This.. The proposal is laughable and makes NO sense for either team. Singler should be traded for a late first rounder!!

It's not as bad you think. Biyombo gone allows them to bring Mullens back.

You'd have offered Charlie V.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
