Summer League 2013

Post#1 » by Jamaaliver » Thu Jul 11, 2013 1:03 am

Quinn Snyder will be coaching.

Schroeder, Muscala and...Sergi Gladyr will be present!!!

As well as Mike Scott and John Jenkins.

Thoughts?

Who starts?
Who finishes?

Will we actually see some of our primary offensive sets?

I suspect Jenkins will set the world ablaze this Summer. If his defense and strength have improved, he could really make a name for himself.

Muscala is fairly polished and should perform well offensively, defensively it will be interesting to see how he fairs against elite athletes.

We will be loaded on the wings with Jenkins, Gladyr and Cunningham.

Question: where are Cenk Aykol and Pape Sy?
Will our entire staring lineup be international in three years?

Thanks for posting this. I've been wondering.

I guess no Nogueira means he's going to stay overseas.

You're forgetting about the 7'3 Serbian center we have on there... can't teach height! Seriously though, it's an interesting group, including one or two ex-Austin Toros (The Spurs D-League team).

John Jenkins is getting overrated here. I don't see anything about him that distinguishes him from guys like James Anderson.

I suspect Mike Muscala will be a summer-league standout. I think he can be a very servicable bench big man in the league.

i agree, i'm excited to see Muscala, i think he could be the surpise of the summer, and their is a good chance, with Zaza and Petro gone, the rookie could actually see consistent minutes in the regular season.

Jenkins should be a candidate for possible summer MVP.

i'm interested in seeing Cunningham, and seeing what defensive plays and highlight dunks he can get.

i'm also interested in Mike Scott's 3pt shot this summer, if he developed it or not.

as for Schröder, he is the possible PG of the future, but i don't think he will get that many minutes this summer

id like to see Muscala,Schroder,Jenkins show up in the summer league and open some eyes.....Cunningham was a salary throw in from the Mavs......Scott showed he could play last year in stretches and could be a big surprise this year for the Hawks

Jenkins has major league shooting ability. Anderson looked as if he would, before his injury-plagued experience in SA, but he's never delivered.

Perhaps. I understand your reluctance, but Jenkins is just as talented and just as one dimensional as Danny Green. And since we have The Spurs' Coach and system in place, it's logical that he might be put in position to duplicate his success going forward.

Jenkins may be as talented of a shooter, but Green is also a solid defender...

Jenkins has some PG skills. He's a possible 1/2 off the bench.

Solid is a good word. It is something he worked on meticulously the past four years as he was a fringe player n the league for quite sometime.

Adequate team defense can be taught.
