Obviousely he Counts against the cap, but only the 1st year is guaranteed, I don't want him to be taking up a roster spot.

I also don't see any teams taking him on without giving back a bad contract or us not giving up at least cash and/or a 2nd rounder.

So better waive him.

Best parts about Bogans:

1. He's a badass, and looks like a guy that should play a villain in a movie.
2. He's got a fat non-guaranteed deal for next year, which might help facilitate a trade next offseason.

Otherwise, not very good at helping win games, or this rather dreary offense.

The high point of his career was when he was traded for Brandon Hunter...in 2003.

Wow. Didn't realize he had been around for that long.

Who are the 4 guys in front of him? I'm assuming KO, Sully and Brandon Bass...you expect a rookie, a guy coming off of season ending back surgery and an undersized PF to eat up all of your minutes at the 4/5?

Olynyk and Sullinger will get their burn. They are part of the picture going forward. As for Bass, they need to showcase him to get a trade worked out. even if they don't trade Humphries he expires next summer.

dont forget we're tanking this season, why would we wanna play Humphris who won't be in the Boston project in the future.
I'd rather give young guys more minutes in order to develop their skills and learn more NBA experience.

Iverson, Pressey etc havnt been signed at all. White, Randolph and Joseph can be cut.

Rondo (1)
Bradley - Lee - Crawford (3)
Green - Brooks - Wallace - Bogans (4)
Sullinger - Olynyk - Bass - Humphries (4)
Melo (1)

Thats actually only 13 roster spots taken.

cut White, Joseph. dont cut Randollph, he was pretty good last season despite given less than 10 minutes per game

I understand that the C's are looking for a top 5 pick. My point is that it's not a simple as trading Hump. He has value in his contract, but also has a valuable skill that some team will covet around the deadline, especially because he's expiring. On top of that, do the C's want to take back long term salary just to move his expiring?

I'm just saying I think there is a strategic decision to be made.

? No, we probably want to move him for younger assets/picks - not long term salary.

For example a young player of use/potential + an expiring to make salaries match.

Who would want Kris Humphries that much?

We don't know how he'll perform (IF we keep him), but taking into account that he's on his contract year, I'd figure he wants to earn a big payday after this season, I think he would give his all and knowing how the league reacts to a few months of good performance, anything could happen really.

If not, then let him expire, we're still ok.

we are overloaded at power forward as well as shooting guard and if we sign this brazilian, we're overloaded at center as well. I still believe that danny is not interested in being a team that finishes out of the lottery. I don;t care what he says; what I pay attention to is what he does. anyone who thinks brad stevens is going to win a lot of games as a rookie coach is crazy. so right away his hiring tells me that danny is thinking long term and is prepared to lose a lot of game next year. he wants young players who can be developed as well as draft pickes. Humphries has value as do guys like bogans and bass. those guys have reasonable salaries and know how to play in the nba. so I fully expect that danny will explore options to trade them. wallace , if healthy, has value as well provided he can recover his shooting stroke. he played well for the nets in the playoffs so maybe he will bounce back and have a good year. 2-3 years ago he was one of the best small forwards in the league. I've also always liked humprhies. so I wouldn't be unhappy if we kept them but again I don't think they fit in danny's plans. sullinger and olynk are both power forwards and they're both keepers. I think melo will be traded in a package with humprhies or wallace. I've seen mention of an asik deal and I think that could make sense. we send humprhies to houston along with one of our brazlian centers. we desperatley need some shooters so that's the other area danny needs to address. I don't see crawford and brooks on this team. I htink crawford, as talented as he is, may have punched his ticket out of town with that punk display against the knicks. bradley lee and brooks are all decent players but none of them are great 3 point shooters.I think this team will really struggle with outside shooting so danny needs to plan for that.

Green will play minutes at pf as well. Plus I'd rather give minutes to Melo at center. I doubt Humphries plays much of anything.

“We would like to thank Paul, Kevin, and Jason for everything that they have done for this franchise. We would not have won Banner 17 without Paul and Kevin and they will go down amongst the all-time great players to have ever worn a Celtics uniform,” said Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge.

“At the same time we are excited to welcome Gerald, Kris, Keith, MarShon and Kris to the Celtics family. They bring a wealth of talent, experience, depth, and flexibility to our team.”

Goodbye guys. Pierce & KG, y'all were the best!

Strange to see especially Pierce go. I have followed him from the beginning. Best wishes to Pierce and KG and thanks.

Question about the draft picks that we will get from the Nets. In the press releases about the trade nothing is said about restrictions on the picks so that they seem to be unrestricted. Have you seen anything unequivocal on this from the teams? It seems incredible that the Nets haven't put any restrictions on the picks.

Can somebody explain to me how we get a TPE in this deal? I thought we could only get a TPE when trading to a team that is under the cap?
