It doesn't.

Haha...but that part really doesn't matter. Pick your favorite team out of the available bunch. Also why I've thrown in some suggested name changes.

I'm a veteran of similar games on the Trades Board and I've noticed that people with top 8 picks who get GOAT candidates tend to have a big advantage unless you tweak the draft order a little bit.

It is the same thing when you do one with current players. If you end up with LBJ or Durant, you're immediately at a big advantage. Only in current times, the depth of stardom drops off much quicker. You can still build a stacked and competitive squad with so many greats.

...and keep in mind, at the end of the day...this is completely hypothetical and just for fun. The idea is to be able to build the roster you would most like to have been able to see play together.

Yeah, I've still found that having a guy like Jordan or Kareem or Olajuwon affords a major advantage over having someone like, as an example, Carmelo Anthony as your star, something that isn't offset by having a better second rounder when by then the gap in positives for players has gotten smaller.

But hey, run your game the way you want to.

Melo vs. Jordan is like comparing (current day) LBJ to Ben Gordon. I can't imagine Melo would go anywhere near the first round. If he does, that is just bad drafting. Melo is far from a Top 50 player all time, IMO.

...and while it clearly doesn't completely balance it, I did construct the round of coaching selections to be in favor of those who were last in the draft order. There's a pretty big difference between the Top 5 coaches and the Top 30 coaches. I think that plays a pretty solid role.

One question.

So when we draft we can draft anyone that was an all star or only players that were all stars for your respective teams?

Any All-Star that actually played in an All-Star game...regardless of team. If a player was selected but did not play due to injury or some other reason and never played in another game, he would not be eligible. They have to have played at least 1 second in an NBA All-Star game from 1970 on. From my research, there are 300 eligible players.

And just for the record, this will be happening this time around. Once things really slow down with signups in couple days, we will lock it up and go with what we have. That will be one way to help balance things out, in terms of depth.

Sonics are yours.

This is working out much better than the last time around. Already more than 1/4th of the way full.
