Are you excited and optimistic about the upcoming season?

Post#1 » by ngcoolman » Fri Jul 12, 2013 4:49 pm

Like every other Lakers fans, I was down when Dwight announced his decision of joining the Rockets. However, a week after the decision, I feel the future is much brighter. I know everyone is excited about 2014 offseason. But am I the only one who is also optimistic about the upcoming season?

Reasons I am excited
1) Kobe recovery is quicker than expected. He maybe able to play the whole season! I know Kobe will work his ass off to prove doubters wrong. Hopefully, we will witness something unprecedented from Kobe next season.
2) With Dwight gone, team chemistry is much better. Pau and Nash are the most selfish players in the league. Without question, Kobe will be the 1st option in offense with Pau being the 2nd option in the post.
3) We signed younger players like Farmar and NY who actually want to play for us. They together with Kaman instantly make our bench much better.
4) MDA now has players who suits his system and has a summer camp to work with them. With more shooters, we may see a exciting offensive team next season.

Exciting offensive team(maybe, maybe not) but terrible defensive team(given)

We were close to last the season before without Dwight on the floor defensively(statistical wise) and we lost him and the two other guys who at least gave a **** on D....MWP and Clark

I expect to see some fun games but that's it.....no need to get delusional now and to hope for more than a low playoff seed and a quick first round exit....for those hoping for the best

I think with a full training camp the team will operate on a much more disciplined level.

The possibility of reuniting the gang really provides good chemistry to the team, along with serviceable role players. Nash-Kobe-Gasol is a good core even though they are very old and probably will coast through the RS a bit, Lakers might become a difficult team to beat in the playoffs.

I feel like we'll do alot better than people think we will, all this talk about us maybe missing the playoffs is stupid, I think if we stay healthy we finish maybe 4th or 5th in the west behind OKC, San antonio and Denver and maybe Memphis I might be wrong but I think we're better than the Rockets, Clippers and Golden state....

I don't think we have a shot at a title... But I think if everything goes well we could be in the thick of the playoffs.

Which would be pretty remarkable considering...

The more our bench expands; the more excited I get. Hopefully we'll have depth and some solid role players. Gotta feeling JHill is gonna have a breakout year.

This team will be better then last years team most likely. Chemistry plays a bigger role then talent most of the times. Who knows, Dwight leaving might be addition by subtraction. Either way, I'm going to be behind the Lakers regardless of their record

i see this shaping up to be a good season, Gasol back in the post and Nash with the ball in his hands. i like the fack that we are getting players that fit what we are trying to do but most of all is that these players want to be here.

OP: to be honest when i saw the he was going to the Rockets I said well we have more cap spave next season. I wanteda TPE at first, but I got over that. I was happy to see him go, he was just wrong for us. this team we are putting together depending how many shooters wer have , I want Daye to play the 4 for us. I just want to see what this team fullof players that want to be here can do, im willing to bet that with a full training camp and a healthy roster we can winn 50 games

Yeah i enjoy this. Gonna be a fun season. I say if things go perfect we can mold into contenders. It's like what the spurs just did last year.

IF AND ONLY IF we can stay healthy through out the year and Kobe plays like he did in the last 20 or so games (triple double machine) rather then averaging 40 plus - I expect us to get 4,5 or 6 and face either Clippers/Rockets in first round. But as I said "IF AND ONLY IF" we can stay healthy < Laugh your arse off at this, but just never give up and wait n see b4 giving up.

I remember quite a few games last season a lot of you were doubting the Lakers about finishing the game and winning while we were down 10plus points in the 4th but we came back and won most of those games and yet you fans gave up way b4 the 4th = never give up on your team <<< In saying that I LMAO @ those Heat fans who went home in Game 6 VS the spurs and tried to get back in the stadium after hearing about the comeback

Have faith in your team no matter what and wait for the final buzzer to finish

If we can't stay healthy and have injury's again, then maybe 8th seed if we are lucky.
