Get used to them.
They will come up with some amazingly creative reasons for why he doesn't play well.
The truth is (as you will soon see for yourself) that he's just not a very good player.

One of the other positives from the trade. All the Bargnani fanboys are gone from our board. I have no idea how you can continue to defend the guy after those last 2 seasons.

unfortunately you've followed them. now shoo fly

I have no doubt the Bargnani fanboys will be more irritating than the Crawford fanboys.

And yet he rebounds worse than a 5'11, stubby Chris Paul. Now that's impressive.

Bargnani's rebounding rate per 36 minutes has been higher than Chris Paul in every single NBA season they've been a part of.

If you're going to quote one of my posts and then make a comment, get your facts straight before doing so. Otherwise, don't bother making a snide remark. You want to say Bargnani's rebounding sucks, that's fine. Do it another way, not by using Chris Paul in a lazy attempt to try to get your point across.

I know Bargnani doesn't rebound well, and honestly, I don't give a crap. He will likely be playing next to Tyson most of the time who hogs most the defensive rebounds from his teammates. Same reason why I wouldn't give a crap if I was a Nets fan and Brook Lopez was only averaging 7 rebounds a game while playing alongside Kris Humphries and Reggie Evans who averaged double digit rebounds alongside him. Or Marc Gasol who regardless of being 7'1 doesn't get a lot of rebounds because he plays next to Zbo.

Bargnani is flawed, I know that. A wise person told me the other day, it should not be always about bettering your flaws. In some cases, it is best to place the focus on betting your strengths. That applies to plenty of NBA players who have had a long successful career and would likely apply to Bargnani if he was approached the right way.

Bah, whatever, I waste too much time on these responses. I got a bus to catch.

marc gasol boxes people out every trip, bargnani stands around doing nothing, plus he does actually rebound when it matters most

Are you a Raptors fan?
Enjoy Casey, Lowry, Fields, Gay, Valanciunas and Demar but please stay in your forum. Are you happy about Andrea's trade? Enjoy it. Are you able stopping to bash Andrea everywhere? Who is going to be your next scapegoat, after Carter, Bosh, Calderon, Turk, Triano, Colangelo and Andrea? I'd bet Gay either DeRozan and then the coach and new GM.

That is an interesting point. Somebody should show this to Melo. I wonder if he would get on Bargs. Who would stop him? LAX made too much sense as a destination.

I don't see a whole lot different about JR. I guess during that one stretch to close the season. What's true is that Grunwald won't interfere.

It's always the same crap over and over. That's the same watch raptors selling Ed Davis as an All Star. There are several top NBA coaches ithat have recognized Bargnani skills. I m talking about NBA coaches.Andrea is a valuable player and interesting key element to add in contending teams because of his versatility. It's as well a low risk for Grunwald, infact if it doesn't work he has a short contract to sell. Win-Win situation.Pound da rock

Not sure if this was posted already:

The Knicks newest acquisition, 7-footer Andrea Bargnani, takes a timeout for some Q&A with Post columnist Steve Serby.

Q: What was it like playing against Kevin Garnett?

A: He’s a very good defender, very good player, great competitor, so it’s always fun, very fun to play against him. ... You want to play against the best, because it brings out your best.

Q: Is he the biggest trash talker you’ve played against?

A: I know he talks. I can hear him talk, but I don’t really listen to what he says.

Q: You might be at an advantage, not understanding half of what KG says, right?

A: The first two, three years, it was hard to understand English coming from Italy, but now I understand English (smile).

Q: How will playing with Carmelo Anthony help your game?

A: Well Melo, he’s a superstar, he can do everything. So just the attention that he draws from the other team, he helps not just me but the other four players on the court, because the other team’s got to be focused on him. They’ve got to guard him and double-team him, so that opens up space on the court. I hope I can help him have more space now, be on the perimeter sometimes, not just inside, it can open up the court for him to play more.

Q: Give a scouting report on yourself.

A: I can really do everything — I can dribble, I can shoot from outside, of course, I can play in the low block. ... Offensively, I do a little bit of everything. Depends who’s guarding me ... where’s the mismatch? I can’t even tell you what I like to do the most. ... I like to do everything ... good in any position.

Q: What are the most unfair criticisms you hear?

A: I’m very realistic, so I know the areas where I got to get better. I know I got to be a better rebounder, and I know I **** will **** be a better rebounder next season. Criticism, that’s part of the business, part of the sport. Sometimes they’re good. I use that motivation.

Q: Can you play good defense?

A: For sure, yeah.

Q: But that’s been a criticism, that you can’t.

A: Well, what they say is I can play a very good defense on my man, but I got to be better team defender, that’s what they always tell me. One-on-one I’m a good defender, but I got to be a better team defender.

Q: A quote about you last year: “He was never in shape. He didn’t care.”

A: Who’s that coming from?

Q: No name was put on it.

A: I can tell you that coming into the training camp I was in great shape
. And then after the [elbow and wrist] injury, it took me two months to get back on the court. And because of the injury, I couldn’t lift weights at all for two months. That was so bad. When I came back, I was weaker. It was impossible to be in shape,

It amazes me how the "haters" who apparently "know everything" failed to mention the above

I can't wait for this season...

358 pages for this guy. Not a good start. Best way to deal with him is to have very low expectations.

Return to New York Knicks
