Grantland gives Pistons A+ for offseason

Post#1 » by ImHeisenberg » Sat Jul 13, 2013 4:44 pm

Andrew Sharpe over at Grantland gave out grades to all the teams that made notable moves this offseason, and bestowed an A+ to the Pistons, and gave them a flattering write up. You can read the article here.

It`s because of the Sheed hire. Folks love Rasheed.

Joes offseason could blow up in our faces, but right now, if it all goes well, we could be a playoff team with room to grow and at the very least a fun team to watch.
Not sure A+ is right, but he has hada great offseason so far imo

Awesome read. Glad KCP was able to finish off the summer league strong with 20/5/4. He did pretty well with 19, then 15 then 20 in the final three games considering his jumper really wasn't falling for the most part. I love the fact that he got to the line so much these last few games.

KCP is going to prove that he wasn't the reach that some people are calling him, and he sure as heck is no Nick Young.

I think he summed it up well. KCP and Knight are huge wild cards. If Knight can make a leap, or KCP comes in as a scorer and defender, it pushes this team up to another level.

And, in a worst case scenario, it will be a really fun team to watch. Hopefully they will get some nationally televised games this season.

He wasn't a reach. He was gone at 9 if we didn't take him.

I feel like there's two segments of posters on this board. the first kind are the ones who are constantly stating stupid, moronic things and trade ideas, etc..and the second are the posters who spend a good chunk of time correcting the first group.

Exactly. Had Joe D expressed that we were interested in KCP, there's a good chance Minny moves up in front of us and we don't get him.

I'm excited. Been awhile since people across the league were even considering us a playoff team. I'm still holding out some hope we pull off a trade that makes our roster a little bit more even. With that being said, I really can't complain so far.

It's about time the Pistons actually got some love. I kind of like it when everyone hates on us though...

Thank you based Joe for not picking Burke and allowing all of this to spiral out of where we are now. This is so heavenly.

I'm immensely excited to watch my Pistons again.

Good write up. I'm very pleased with the KCP, Smith, Billups, Mitchell, Datome additions.

I'm still convinced Rondo + contracts (Wallace/Lee) for expirings/young pieces is a very real possibility.

If Rondo/Wallace/Lee for CV31/Stuckey/Knight/Middleton is a "ridiculous" trade offer then count me in group 1.

I disagree.. At the end of the day it was a moot point. With McLemore dropping the way he did, Minny would have moved up and grabbed McLemore, Sac would have grabbed Burk, and we still would have gotten KCP.
