I do have a question about judging so lets say I picked a player that barely qualified made the 1971 team at the end of his career even though his career and most achievements were made before 1970 do we only get judged on what he did after or in that scenario will we look at what happened before 1970?

Good question.

We will take in to consideration a prime that began before 1970 as long as the player who is drafted made an All-Star appearance in 1970 or later. So like you said, if he was a stud in the mid-60's but did make an All-Star appearance in 1971, he is eligible. If a player appeared in the 1967, 68, & 69 All-Star games but never appeared in another after...even though he continued playing...he would not be eligible.
