Thibs is a, "The offense will take care of itself" kind of guy.

I think its the defense that concerns him. As Nate can screw up our whole scheme if he is getting beat too bad.

But, if the Bulls offered Nate the minimum, not sure why anyone is saying Thibs is against him.

Thibs may have input, but management makes the calls. If we gave him an offer then we'd like to have him back obviously, even if for cheap.

Just not a lot of playing time here, so pundits probably projecting he will get a better offer and role somewhere else.

Hahaha maybe the Thibbs' reservations are just a leak by Thibbs as a dig against the FO for when they ultimately sign Nate. I would bet that if there was an offer, it was in the line of, we both realize that there will not be much playing time, and we can offer you a minimum salary deal, but we respect what you did for us last season, so if in the unlikely even that you can not find a better situation, we will find a spot for you on the roster.

Quotes from his agent make it appear he believes there may still think someone will beat a minimum salary offer. It all comes down to if any of the 30 NBA value him, since it really only takes one. Once he realizes the situation, I think he will make his decision based on a potential role, so even at the minimum, the Bulls will be low on his list, and visa versa.

I don't see how the Bulls are disrespecting Nate at all. They can't offer him any more per the CBA rules, and when you have DRose how much playing time can you offer him? You can't play him at SG due to his size.

If the Nets get to get away with paying players under the table, we should do it with Nate. We should also send Rose'n'Reggie to go recruit superstars under contract(as Riley has done,) encouraging them to force their teams to trade them(as Paul, Melo, and Howard have done.)

The NBA is changing and if we keep our old school tactics we'll be obsolete. Superstars will keep teaming up and the Nyets will keep it all gyangster. I'm confident that IF we have indeed offered him a contract as reported, that it was explained to him that while his value was greatly appreciated, the Bulls are simply not in a position to pay him "what he's worth" as they had three PGs under contract already and zero backup SGs or SFs with any experience, plus even paying him the 20% raise will cost the Bulls something like 4.2 million dollars on top of an already very high payroll.

I'm sure it's frustrating to Nate, but I really am confident that even if we are refusing to offer the 20% raise, the reasons for refusing to do so have been explicitly laid out for him. He'd be a 4.2 million dollar 4th PG.

The simple truth is that there's really no room or minutes for Nate on the team next season. The Bulls are not gonna trot 5'6" Nate Robinson out on the court with Rose. Teague is entering his second year, which means that he will more than likely see consistent minutes.

Nate realizes this & it's why he's using his twitter followers to put pressure on the Bulls. He needs the Bulls to drive up his price.

OF COURSE there are going to be minutes for Nate next season: Kirk is going to get hurt no matter what and miss many games. Teague is 20 years old and can barely play at the NBA level. So far he's been pretty terrible. He can NOT be expected to relieve Rose for quality minutes while generating kick ass and super awesome offence. Why? Because his first name isn't Nate and his last name isn't Robinson.

And Jesus Christ. No one is declaring that Rose and Nate are going to start together or that the Bulls are going to "trot 5'6" "out on the court with Rose". What fans have been insinuating is that in certain moments of certain games, a Rose and Nate back court would be extremely difficult for Miami and for Spoelstra to use LeBron to trap Rose, seeing as there would be a second, super athletic shot creator next to Rose.

As for what Nate realizes and what he actually is thinking and intending, that is only known (pretty obvious) by Nate and his inner circle or close associates.

It's safe to change the title of this thread. We extended him an offer of 120% the vet min, and he still likes us (even though we gave Dunleavy the MMLE.) If he doesn't get an offer better than the vet min, and there are no signs that he will, he's going to sign with us.
