Ben Mclemore looked awful but so did KCP his first game. Let's give him a couple games to get adjusted but it's pretty obvious KCP is bigger and also better at dribble drive to fall back on when he's not hitting shots and BMAC doesn't.

MacLemore finished 4/23 from the field. Yikes. He will get better of course.

I still like KCP's size and quickness over MacLemore.

HOWEVER, it's not the only factor in a player's success, some players of similar or lesser athleticism were successful (See Monta Ellis's pre-draft measurements), and exactly how bad are you all claiming Burke's athleticism is? In his favor, he can get to the hole (nice change of pace moves and handles), he can pass the rock, he is great at doing exactly what the coach wants him to do, and he seems driven. I have no problem with Detroit taking KCP--I'm not entering that argument--but I do see the possibility of Burke being a quality PG in the NBA.

Where did anyone say athleticism was the only factor in players success?

I cant speak for others but I commented on how Burke was able to create space to shoot all week, he just missed shots his history says he will usually make, it happens.

The KCP/Burke argument was never a real argument, it was Mich fans vs others. Burke was never in the mix for us, he wasnt a need at all. Let that go..

I dont think theres anything wrong or crazy about thinking Burke is going to be a quality NBA PG someday.

Why do u keep down playing burke fans as only wanting him because he went to UM, when time and time again its proven its not the case.I think your a good poster most of the time but its time to find a new schtick.

It's only summer league...good game by McCollum, bad one for McLemore but KCP started off horribly too. He'll pick it up.

McCollum was in my top 2 overall (other was Oladipo) and he looked just as good as I expected. He still has to work on his A/TO ratio but I think he will be gold.

I wonder if Portland is actually planning to run a backcourt of Lillard/McCollum for the foreseeable future. It seems to me like they'd be better off figuring out which of the two will be better in the future (most likely Lillard) and trading the other for an SG. Not to call McCollum a scrub or anything, I had him and Burke as my 1A 1B choices in this draft. I just feel like McCollum will be better as a PG than an SG, and he could probably net a good player in the future.

Also, really random but, there's nothing worse than seeing a box score with both the Morris twins on the same team. I can't tell which M Morris is which, and apart from fouls they're nearly identical so I can't even make an educated guess!
