Ya. He's an oddball and not what he used to be back in his DPOY days but still a tough player w some size. I'd try it.

No need to worry about this knuckle head joining our team. He wants to play in China, and China only... unless an arena football team wants him.

I would love RonMetta to bolster up the front court as the backup 4. Would provide the best defensive option for a power 4-man (ahem, Z-Bo).

I believe none of that. I think it's him just talking to talk like he does. Similar to him saying he's too sexy for his cat

I think its just a warning to sway any bids so he can become a free agent

Let a man dream! I can't see any positive to Artest signing with us. Whatever good he brings on the court will be mitigated by the bad off it. Getting JJ and Dudley showed we are trying to build a locker room of good upstanding men as well as good ball players. Artest and DJ... I just think it could be a bad combo. I'd rather have Odom and I never thought I would say that.
Now from Artest's point of view, it WOULD make more sense to go to China. As long as no one picks him up while he is on amnesty waivers, he will still get his money from the Lakers, he can go to China, build a fan base there and sell all kinds of shoes. Why not?

I think World-Peace would be a good option off the bench if we can sign him. We need a tough bruiser on this team. We need someone that would do something about what other teams do to Blake. We can't have Blake do anything about it but the tenth man on our bench that should be his job. Who better then World-Peace?

I'm torn. I see both sides. Why risk adding a bad apple if he's gonna be the 10th man. That said he could be an amazing 10th man. He could be the guy we need to stand up to Z-Bo and be an enforcer for Blake. Barnes is a tough guy too but Metta is much bigger. I've always been a big Artest guy so I'd be stoked if he came here but I'd also be worried what his thuggish persona could do to the team.

Knowing the source, it seems even likelier that MWP ends up a Clipper. ;)

If he plays the backup 4, im ok with it, stretch tough guy 4 who plays D. but his attitude and personality still makes me not want him.

I hope that the Clips and MWP have a chance to talk, I would rather have him than Lamar. Sometimes its ok to have an athlete who doesn't realize his skills are diminishing, but he still plays as hard as he did in the past.
