There is NO trade with Wash... Let me explain the CV paradox first.
When CV was brought to Det, he was brought in to be the man at $8mil/year. Totally not worth the payroll. He was/is a stretch 4 who could light up the offense with his ability to score from anywhere on the court. He's a big body who has no idea how to rebound or defend. That is not now, nor has it ever been the blueprint of a centerpiece at the 4 or 5 for the Det Pistons.
I realize that a lot of people just want CV gone but this is the first year he actually makes sense for some minutes. With Dre & Smith on the court, CV can just focus on what he does best... Stretch the floor and hit outside j's & 3's. Dre & Smith will handle the interior defense on the other end of the court. Plus, with Dre a year older and Smith a leader on the court, CV may actually try to measure up defensively. He may be better at it because it will be it will be a focal point by players who are actually on the court. At the end of the day, he will still be a lousy defender, albeit, better than he's been.
CV as you all know will expire at the end of the year and Det will just be sliding into the playoffs this year. CV will not see anymore than 12 min/game and that's sharing time at the 4 and the 5. He is a much needed asset to this Det squad this year. He should also look to others the way he did to us when he was a FA in MIL in 2008. The thing is, other teams will take notice because he is now an attractive asset as a useful expiring who can stretch the floor. CV should appeal to the Lakers & D'Antionio's system because they could care less about defense. CV is still young and has the ability to contribute. Just don't ask him to play defense!!!
