Wesley Johnson signs with the Lakers

Lakers agreed to terms with SG Wesley Johnson...1-yr deal for vet's min of $1 mill. Was 4th pick in 2010 draft, played last season for PHX.

Not a great scorer, but he can defend. He's wing size, athletic, and loves Kobe. Not a bad add at all. Now just LO or Kenyon. Isn't much of a scorer, but he can run, like getting Ariza for Cook years ago when he was raw at the end of the Magic bench.

I didn't even know the Lakers were pursuing him.

Kinda funny Johnson and Hill were lotto picks. They have talent in them. It needs to be nurtured much like that of Farmar and Young.

For what its worth, the lakers added youth, but they now have youth who can play which is a far contrast from Morris and Ebanks

Nice pick up. He's a good man defender and if he can add a consistent 3, he'll be a great fit in at SF.

That backcourt looks hella crowded now.

Nice signing. I think the Lakers have quietly have had a pretty good off-season after Dwight left. We've filled out our roster nicely, and built a bench that on paper looks better than what we've had in years.

I think the whole season is like a try out for players who we want to keep beyond this season. Acquiring a high draft pick who hasn't yet found a niche for himself is a good way to go.

Yeah I like the move personally.. Just saying James Johnson is still out there and is a good on ball defender... BTW i pulled up this old article on how Kobe was mentoring Wes Johnson before... Used to workout with Bean

another good vet min signing. he shoots 3's as miserably as ariza, so hopefully he can make his makes timely ones to make it seem like he's a better shooter than he really is, kind alike ariza.

Yeah, I googled him after the fact. The only noteworthy part of his career is that he dated Jordin Sparks.

We'll he better make those corner 3's because Kobe and Nash gonna be swinging that ball right out to him.
