It was the right call for sure. Stand your ground laws are lifesavers.

stand your ground wasn't even applied to the case. they argued it as straight up self defense. i think the argument was that Zimmerman was more or less ambushed after giving up his chase, thus the chance to retreat was never even really an option thus stand your ground did not apply

Oh I haven't been following the case at all. I heard the NAACP statement after the verdict and they were talking about a campaign to end stand your ground laws in all states so I assumed it was used in this case. But I guess now

i thought Zimmerman would get manslaughter but I'm doing a bit of devils advocate and bit of what I actually believe on OTB. its crazy how if you try to keep the focus on the individual case or try and take emotion out of the discussion you're just immediately branded a racist on there. basically if you imply the case wasn't racially based you're a racist there. Brimley won't even respond to me now after I tore him down

The State didn't prove their case, their case was pretty much **** from the start. Do i think Zimmerman should have been found guilty of manslaughter? Hell yea...but cases are not tried on what "I" think. the jury was just playing the hand they were dealt

I just watched someone perform a chiropractic adjustment on youtube. Seeing people get their joints cracked like that is really soothing. Makes me want to go see a chiropractor immediately.

I went from childhood until my insurance ran out a few years ago, it opens up your allergies (no one ever believes that but it's true), makes you breathe better, etc. It is an amazing feeling.

Its soothing just watching. I've never been because Im terrified of doctors, but I think im going to make me an appointment. These people getting their back adjusted look like they just had an orgasmic release after its done.

Just watched Robin Roberts speech on the ESPYs. I may have to go to the gas station and buy some more tissue.. What an incredible speech. Best one since Mr Valvano himself. Incredible.

Speaking of Jimmy V, the 30for30 on him and the 83 team was very good.

Found an interesting article on hoopshype about rookie extensions after their third season. A bunch of neat little facts:

http://hoopshype.com/articles/hoopshype ... extensions

- Out of 294 first-round picks between 2000 and 2009, only 72 (24.4 percent) received extensions before their rookie contracts expired.

Couple pieces relevant to #2 picks (MKG)
- Players selected with the No. 27 pick saw their contracts extended more often than No. 2 picks.
- Only two No. 2 picks - Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge - signed extensions in the last 10 years.

- No 11th pick with an extension in the last 10 years. The No. 11 pick of the 2010 draft was Cole Aldrich. So make it 11 years straight.

- Only 17 players selected between No. 10 and 19 received early extensions compared to 20 among those chosen between No. 20 and 29.

- Unsurprisingly, the Knicks are the only franchise not to sign a single first-round pick to an extension. Nets, Grizzlies and Spurs have not signed any since 2004.

The Bobcats' lone extendee? Primoz...

If anyone's interested, I'm starting a new GM-A-Team game on the trade/transaction games board. Read the rules and if you're interested, sign up! We probably won't start for another few days, as sign-ups have just started, we're less than halfway full.

@NBARUMORS: Tim Duncan's wife claims he is bi-sexual and cites a gay affair as reason for divorce. (Multiple Reports) http://t.co/nNmGcBjy2V

Is anyone else not surprised by this? :o
