Great. Now, we can focus on developing a "Hawks' way" of playing, with veterans teaching the kiddies how to be professionals. Teague runs the point until Schröder learns. If Teague grows into a star, we trade the kid. If the kid grows into a star, we trade Teague. Same for all the vets down the line.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

I absolutely knew he was waiting to see the kid play. Seen potential. He said we need something now so teague get your disgruntled a** over here

This must mean Jennings wanted way to much money and was unwilling to negotiate.

Its a smart move because we need a pg, but teague didn't want to be here anymore.

Could end up being a bad move

It's a tank move!!!

Kidding.

Not ecstatic we kept a guy here who did not want to be here. But at this point, we just need talent of any kind.

Question: Teague only has to stay one more year, right? He's not forced t sign our four year offer, is he?

^ We matched the offer MIL made. That means we have him for the same duration and at the same salary that they offered.

However, we can trade him - after 3 months - to any team except the Bucks. They have to wait one year before we can trade him to them.

And teams keep players who "didn't want to be there" all the time. It's a team game - he'll get excited about his teammates. Remember, you're the guy who gets upset if we lose a player for nothing. Matching him keeps open the opportunity to trade him later . . . or let him grow into something special (who knows?).

Which will be, "We're keeping him only because he'll be sooooo angry, he'll throw games."

This is good, Teague can be traded later on in the season, and this helps meet the minimum salary Ferry has to spend.

This is still good (and necessary by the CBA spending requirements), because Teague and Korver can still be traded late on in the season. just like the Spurs in 96, he is not going to let go of tradeable assets. i approve.

For all the times you accuse others of being dumb or stupid, can't you at least say something when you're PROVEN wrong? I get really tired of the intelligence insults.

I don't see how anyone can't admit that Teague, Jenkins, Caroll/Korver, Milsap, Horford isn't a playoff team.

They added real talent to replace what they lost. Bebe can't give you less than the back up Center did last year. I think Scott, with a bigger role, is going to be special(I think we are going to see horford/Scott/Milsap more than people think) and with Lou coming back and Jenkins with another year under his belt, we are in for something.

If we were tanking, you let Teague walk, have Mack and Schroder as your opening day point guards and you are in good shape to shoot for the top pick. We clearly aren't. Its time to just let that nonsense go.

He will be 29 when this contract is up. He isn't going to ruin his stock for his last big contract to sulk around because he's not happy. Its the same thing with Eric Gordon and his "PLEASE don't match" in New Orleans last year. When push comes to shove, he is going to suit up and play. And play hard.

Is Bebe coming over this season?

I admit they are a playoff team. But we have been a playoff team for years. I dont understand your point. We want to get better not be stagnant or slightly worse but still in the playoffs.

Starting lineup could be
Teague-pg
Lou will-sg
Horford at center
Millsap -pf
Korver/jenkins-Sf

We are really thin at SF and center. But we were last year too.

:( Gordon had one of his worst seasons last year for a last place team. The Pelicans unsuccessfully tried to trade him almost immediately after signing him. Not to mention he struggled with injuries mightily.

Gordon had a history of injury troubles before his contract though, Gordon is still a good player he's just derailed by injury. Teague doesn't have those injury woes.
