his problem is his ball handling, it restricts his speed with the ball as he can't manuever his way around transition defense through traffic very well without slowing down. If the opposing defense is dozing however, and Lin has a straight line to the basket then he's going to beat almost everyone there.

Lin is just a bad player. Probably out of top 25 PG in the league. Except being Asian he is just overrated and a bad player.

There's nothing wrong with him except his jumpshot and his defense, both of which will come with more experience in his case since he is absolutely trying. People arguing about his handles (WHAT?) and speed with the ball are being idiotic. He's just as good as Westbrook/Rose with the ball and is almost identical to them in all aspects of the game except not quite being as good at scoring. He's probably better defensively than both of them, but no one will talk about that because fans of the Bulls/Thunder have bizarre biases towards their favored players.

Even by your definition he's still a starting PG in the league, how is that bad ? And what do you mean "Except being Asian"? Is that supposed to be his redeeming quality? I didn't know being Asian gives you an advantage in basketball..

Lost his spot to Beverley. He used to be a starter but through the end of season and playoffs i think he lost his spot.

He never lost his spot to Beverley, he started every game that he was healthy.

And that's still irrelevant considering your original statement that he's just out of the top 25 PG's in the league. There are 30 teams in the NBA, that means that even if you're top 26-30 you're still a starting caliber PG. That's according to your ranking.

Lin would start on the Heat. Stop.

are you out of your mind? he can't shoot like rio, why would miami start someone at the one that's not a floor spacer?

Lin is way better then Chalmers. Norris Cole outplayed Chalmers for most the playoffs. Lin and Cole are both aren't "good" shooters. The idea that the Heat always need a shooting "1" on the court is BS as Chalmers didn't play down the stretch every game and they did just fine. The Heat just need a rebounder and 1 shooter on the floor at one time to be good.

This was one of there best lineups

He averaged a 19.9 PER one year and sucked so bad the other, but I think its the proverbial sophomore slump.

Knicks fans still salty. Lin is an adequate point guard with the roster that the Rockets have. He is by no means untouchable however.

UncleDrew wrote:I don't think he looks that fast because of his body/height compared to most NBA guards. He also runs kind of strange when you look at those highlights. He takes quick steps and his stride doesn't seem very long. It's almost cartoon-like. Still, he's pretty fast from one end of the court to the other.

I don't get this point? you mean compared to other point guards? Because he's actually pretty tall compared to alot of other pg's he's a legit 6'3" and that usually makes what you do look faster if you're taller.

Like LeBron is super-fast but he looks even faster because of his size.

Lin could drop 50 to win game 7 of the finals and Knicks fans would say he only got that many because he's Asian.

Visual memory says otherwise. Whenever I watch him, he always seems slow or slower than I expect. If he can finally get over his injury concerns, maybe we can witness that more often.

How did he suck so bad??

I still don't understand how people say lin has a bad year last year wtf?
He was hurt and ineffective in the playoffs yes, but his year overall was solid

13.6 and 6 assists for his first full season in the NBA is bad? It was essentially his rookie year considering how little he played prior to last year

If any other player put up those numbers in their rookie season people would say that player is a solid young pg with some promise

But with lin it's "lol the guy sucks and is a d league player!"

I remember Jeremy Lin saying, "I've heard people say that I'm deceptively fast. Deceptively? What is that supposed to mean?".

This stereotype has got to go, East Asians are some of the quickest and fastest people on the planet. The world junior 100 meter champion is a kid from Japan, also there are many sub 10.2 100 sprinters in China and Japan much morso than many Euro and caribbean countries with exception of Jamaica and the US. Perception is just a false stereotype, Lin doesnt have 'deceptive' speed, he's just plain flat out fast.

This is completely true except at the beginning during Linsanity his impact during those games was underrated, but his overall potential was underrated than overrated. Linsanity was crazy.

He was finally starting to be properly rated, but then he played hurt during the playoffs and I'm expecting Beverly to prove he's legit next season and to show that he was underestimated and Lin around the 16th-20th best PG in the league (not that I have a list)
