Sources: Hawks Likely To 'Tank' If Howard Doesn't Signhttp://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/228586/Sources-Hawks-Likely-To-Tank-If-Howard-Doesnt-Signas a guy who is for tanking, i love all the moves Ferry has done so far. weather you are delusional and in denial and think Millsap will make the Hawks into an elite team in the east, i just feel sorry for you
it is up to you if you want to be delusional . or it is up to you if you want to be dumb and still think the world is flat

That is like the worst article I have ever read. We addressed it when you originally posted it as well.
I think you see what you want to see. If we were tanking, we would be making moves like Utah, or the 76ers. We havent tried to trade Horford, we have gone out an gotten a good stand up PF, Resigned Korver(
why not let him walk and play a rookie in his place?)
Ferry is just fielding the best team he cant, he cant force people to sign here.
I think the process is blatantly clear, go after players we WANT, if we strike out, settle for someone else on a decent contract we can develop or trade later. Rebuilds take time. We didnt have to sign Millsap.
IF ferry was tanking, he would be trading away every asset we have for DRAFT PICKS.
I still bet we are a playoff team with this squad. We have 2-4 potential all stars. Just not a ton of depth
This just wouldn't work, and that is why it makes it so dumb. the NBA has rules that you have to spend a minimum of $55 million each year on a roster, you can't just get 10 rookies and pay them $1 million each because you won't hit the minimum salary limit, and you can't over pay a rookie or young player , because you won't be able to move them later on.
that is why the smart thing, or only thing to do is to find a guy who would be the worst player you could partner up with Horford and give him $10 million. and what worst teammate can you get for your undersized center, than an undersize, poor defensive PF with no post up game.
and then ontop of that you try to get one of the worst shooting, SGs or the worst shooting PG in the game, who are bad on defense, on a short term 2 year deal.
Ferry is tanking by trying to construct a very poorly designed team. you don't have to trade everybody to tank, Spur didn't trade Robinson, Elliot, and Avery, they just tanked by filling the empty spots with poor defensive players.
but if you want to still believe that Santa Claus exist, and you like the way this team is constructed to win, then it is going to be a long difficult year for you
