Leslie mentioned Jeremy Lin in his letter but not Asik....

Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen 3h
Part of Morey's thinking on Asik. "When we didn't have Omer out there last yr we sucked. Now we have defensive player of the year and Omer."
McHale: "You can smile and dominate. I knew a kid from East Lansing named Magic Johnson and he kicked my tail and smiled while he did it."
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
In long explanation of why he doesn’t want to deal Lin, Asik, “Assisant GM” @dmorey added another reason. Dwight Howard and Harden said so.
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
@dmorey, calling self assistant GM, on Lin, Asik: “Reality is James and Dwight want to play with Jeremy and Omer. They’re going to be here.”
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
DHoward lobbied for Rockets to keep Asik, “a big piece to us winning a championship if we’re going to make that run.”
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen 1h
Dwight Howard heading back to LA. Howard joining Harden, Lin, Parsons and other Rockets for workouts in

Translation: We don't want to add long term salary and kill our shot at Kevin Love or LaMarcus Aldridge in 2015.

Is Dwight even 6'11?
He looked around the same height as an older McHale (6'10 in prime) and Kupchak (6'9).

Toronto Fan here,
Congrats on Dwight, never really liked the Lakers anyway
I have a question,
With Lin and Asik making close to 14 mil next season, are you guys willing to unload them, and for what price?

First - welcome to the Rockets board!
Second - Love the avatar!
Third - Lin & Asik will each be paid over 14M each next year, but their cap hits count only for around 8.3 each. The Rockets are not a team too terribly concerned about actual payments, so there I don't believe that there is a rush to move either because of their upcoming pay schedule.
That said, their trade value may be hurt a bit next year since many teams may not be willing to pay their full salaries, despite the cap hit.

Best thing about this signing was the dumping of #BeWell

Hell no," the former Iowa State basketball star said after playing for the Walnut Creek YMCA Wednesday night in the YMCA Capital City League at Valley Southwoods Freshman High School.
"One hundred flights would be like if you're allergic to peanut butter – it'd be like spreading your whole body with it."

"Anything can happen between now and (the season)," White said. "It's every intention of mine to play.
"I don't know what Philly's intentions are. I'm just going to go there, work hard and try to earn my place."

Re: Dwight chooses to sign with Houston

Dwight looks good in red but is red with blue highlights too Clipper-ish? (and not just because Blake Griffin is in the background).
What do you think of uniforms with sleeves like what the Warriors tried last season? Too soccer looking?

If they look nothing like the GSW jersey then sure. Those jersey were just terrible and not because they had sleeves but for the fact that design and colors and everything else seemed to come out of a nightmare

I think your underestimating James Harden, Jeremy Lin, Chandler Parsons, Patrick Beverly, Omer Asik and the rest of the Rockets roster and the culture within the team. These guys ball for each other and there is real chemistry, they care about each other and bleed and sweat for each other. D12 was always meant to go to the Rockets.
