Stuckey

Post#1 » by Cmurda$maka » Sun Jul 14, 2013 7:51 pm

Are we writing him too early? It seems like everyone would just give him away for a sack of potatoes. I actually think Chauncey coming back could have a profound effect on him. I hope at least. Have we had anybody in the locker room that has held him accountable for his off and on focus since Chauncey was traded? We all know when he wants to play that he can be a borderline all star scorer. There's been a lot of talk on the effect Billups will have on knight and I hope that occurs but I think it could be stuckey that gets a lot out of having him back too.

Stuckey has run of out chances left. I want him out. He's been really lucky that we've been this patient with him this far. I'm not a fan of his anymore. I want him out!

I am towing the line on this one. He showed a lot of promise prior to the arrival of Frank. Frank seemed to (Please Use More Appropriate Word) the growth of a few other players too while having a profound impact on Bynum. Part of me would like to see what Billups & Cheeks can do to change his ways. There is no reason to push him out the door prior to the trade deadline because we would indeed only be able to receive a sack of potatoes in return. The other part of me would like to kick him to the curb and what I mean by that is to trade him to a team that's never accomplished anything, like Charlotte.. Heck, maybe we can ship him off and another expiring for our pick back:)

No one with a brain would give him away for a sack of potatoes but hes now in his what 6th season (6th) & still lacks consistency.

We need consistency from him, when hes good hes really good but those games are way too few.

I like Stuckey though.

Stuck has the talent to be a 20-6-4 player with solid defense. But talent isn't enough and I think his window here is pretty much closed. Maybe a change of scenery will help him out. I dunno. I've pretty much given up on him ever putting it all together.

I always thought if he improved his jumper and finishing at the basket he could be an allstar, but at this point hes had so many chances to improve and just hasn't shown anything.

I think he's a rotation player for us next year. I think Knight/Billups/KCP/Stuckey will be our guard rotation. However, I basically view him as an expiring contract at this point. I hope Cheeks and Billups can help him get it together but I'm not banking on it.

Both sides need a change...it will be good for him and us. I'm still going to be surprised if he is on the roster on opening night, but I also didn't think he would get past draft night as a Piston either. With Joe, you never know.

i think last year ruined him for pistons fans. he was being used as a spot up shooter for most of the year and he really struggled.
If we didn't resign Bynum, i thought Stuckey would be the main back up PG, but i'm thinking he might be on the move. I hope not, because i've always been a Stuckey fan. He could still be a useful contributor on this team.

^Yeah Stuckey is a bad fit unless he's the backup point. He needs the ball in his hands

Very true, but now we have shooters and other athletes to surround him with.
A second unit of Stuckey / KCP (assuming Billips starts to begin the season) / Middleton / CV and Drummond is a very dangerous second unit. i think he's a more willing passer than bynum and his size and defense is much better than bynum.

Maybe i'm drinking too much pistons.com koolaid, but i think Cheeks will be a god send for Stuckey and knight.
I just trying to positive i guess. :P

This pretty much sums it up. He has all the physical tools, but has always lacked the mental strength and desire to be great, or even good.

If I had to guess I'd say Joe was shopping him, but that GM's are balking at the asking price. I don't blame Joe for trying to get the best value he can, but I also don't want to hear that there were "No deals to improve our team", again.

Stuckey has no shot. No one can help him. The entire league knows stuckey man. They know he's driving. They know he's going to try a wild layup. Everyone knows he not athletic enough to make them. They put body on him, he doesn't get the call, then puts up weird lookin shots. Oh and did I mention everyone knows he can't shoot. No thanks . We got Kcp now. Adios bro

I am done with Stuckey.

Remember his twitter account he had for a few days.

He hates Detroit. I'd trade him for Scalabrine..

Stuckey's not staying in Detroit... But if he can behave for half a season, he could be worth something at the trade deadline. He's got weaknesses for sure...but his strengths would be usable in a 6th man role for many contenders. As an expiring contract who could help a teams bench, I'm hoping Dumars can get a late 1st in this draft for him.

Let's also not forget that when he's bad his most success, its the very few times the Pistons ran and had some shooters. When he's coming off the bench, the Pistons will likely downsize their frontline and bring in some shooters. These players have a chance to compliment his game...with the exception of Will Bynum...who's the worst fit in the league next to him.

It's been seven years but it's time to LET IT GO. I like Stuckey but Id rather see him do well elsewhere, he's maxed out his potential here and needs a change of scenery. I don't dislike him as many as most people here, he should have been a lifelong sixth man.

We all thought He made CB1 expendable, boy were we wrong.

I have no problem seeing what becomes of him as a rotation player with our current teammates/coach. Stuckey occasionally finds situations where he can thrive. It doesn't hurt us at all to see if he can somehow pull it together under Cheeks. His trade value won't go any lower...right now it's pretty much his value as an expiring. If he is able to get things going this year his value will jump. If not, no harm done.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.
