It's always disturbing to see the amount of lurkers, then you have those old time posters that haven't logged in since 2011... that sucks.

Yep. He was a character. An oddball but still added a certain personality that made this board lively. I remember talking to him about cooling it with the jibbudy jab and he said he will. Then the next thing I knew he was banned. Lol.

Last time I actually posted on this forum was when I first signed up....think I was around 14 then. Crazy how fast time goes by. So much has changed since then. IMO this board was much more entertaining when we were terrible. Predicting drafts, hyping up scrubs( Frank Williams and that Nets series was fun here) helped make that dreary early decade go by well.

There you go! We were OBSESSED with him. Everybody wanted to draft him. I remember there being an outcry when the Clippers got him with a 2nd rd pick.

He is. Still only 27 years old. There's still time. THERE'S STILL TIME DAMNIT!

I was one of the guilty ones here. I was SURE that Lampe AKA "Magic Lampe" AKA "Light the Lampe" was going to be a huge steal with that first pick of the 2nd round. Little did I know...

That was supposed to be a huge draft for us. We got Michael Sweetney with the 9th pick and Slavko Vranes (The 7'6 monster) with the 39th pick. Anyone remember Isiah's first transaction as GM? Waiving Slavko Vranes.

I thought for SURE that Lampe would be a star. His game looked like it'd translate to the league. I thought Lampe/Sweetney was our future frontcourt. I couldn't have been more wrong. I also thought Vranes could have a Shawn Bradley-esque career. Too bad he was a 7 ft 6 stiff with virtually NO skills. Can you believe it? 3 picks in the 2003 draft, the greatest draft since the 96 draft, and we came up empty. Funny. We came up empty in 96, too, by drafting McCarty/Wallace/Jones

Same with TheBluest. Cool guy. Funny guy.

Loved Hoodie and Cosmic...and I think both those guys were great for the board...the best of those that were banned. But ultimately they broke rules and warnings setup by other mods.

For those that liked some of the more colorful ex posters...and also are complaining about lowered traffic and quality? I think you'd be surprised who was the mod with the shortest leesh and that took things the most personal...and that was instrumental in banning a good number of them.

Moving on from that...I remember getting into a lot of "debates"with Jazz(FU) when I first joined but also how he was one of the posters I respected most.

And yes, Spandau (probably the most colorful mod on this board ever...and well before many of you guys times here) really did have a stalkers obsession with Britney Spears (pre skank).

Raptor fans and Knick fans and why the friction historically? Simply the two biggest kids (in terms of posters) on the block trying to jocky for the top spot.

Bluest was one of my favorite posters and I routinely disagreed with him...even though he'd go on rants, even the filler arguments he threw in would be hilarious. Dude would have a paragraph of randomness just to sneak his favorite nicknames into a post and he was consistent as all hell. I wish I'd been a mod before he got banned.

Unfortunately, OoAnd1 is a relative. He was once a true Knick fan. Somewhere along the way he lost his mind.

He didn't handle the 2000s very well.

However, I will say this... He still wears his Knicks chain and his room still has Knicks memorabilia. It's weird.

All the characters are pretty much gone from realgm.. Pretty much why I rarely post here anymore. I would crack up when he had his Al Harrington / Duhon / Lee rants. Man those were the good times.

Oh man the good ol days.
This board has expanded to the 2nd busiest of the site.
If I recall correctly chi board was had 2nd most topics and Toronto is still currently #1.

When I 1st started posting about the Knicks people had to remind me to actually watch the games. Thankfully they gave me a quota of 10-15 games only because , well Knicks.

The most memorable banning I recall was of a greenie person . Not sure what her deal was but current guys like jimmits is just a fad.
Back then I used to love Mitch.
Other than his Calvary never understood the mudiay hate.

Back then trying to sell people on tank was almost an instant ‘gtfo ‘
