^Kemba made the All-Summer-League team (or whatever it's called) last year.

Zeller looked fine IMO, like a rookie playing with his teammates for the first time.

I think a lot of us including myself had expectations a little too high. every summer we forgot how often rookies struggle in summer league then end up disappointed in the games. far more likely we were expecting too much than we really should have. the struggles of so many of his peers makes that obvious. there were a couple rookies who looked good in the easier Orlando league (and many that looked bad) and Vegas is a lot tougher. almost everyone struggled.

Keep in mind, bigs take longer to develop in the NBA. He's still pretty young and it'll take time for the game to come to him at this level. He needs to get stronger for the low post in the NBA and needs to develop that midrange jumper, but don't take a few summer league games to heart.

I thought he looked fine aside from missing those jumpers, which were clearly nerves. His form is good and his feet were set.

He's also playing without any sort of NBA point guard. But I hope he does better tonight. We need some buzz about him so the media can get off our back

Cody's best stat of the night: 9 for 9 at the FT line.

If he becomes a 80+ FT shooter, Cody could realistically average 17 ppg in the next few years.

People often overlook the fact that Zeller was a 76 percent free throw shooter as a sophomore, combined with the fact that he is Indiana's all time leader in FG percent leads to an extremely dangerous, freakishly efficient scorer.

Cody really impressed me against Dallas. He was doing a little bit of everything and was consistently good all game long. I liked his drives to the hoop. The nice passing. He was taking charges. Hitting from outside. Swishing his free throws. Making good decisions. And he had a very physical defender on him most of the time. I can't say as I saw a single thing he didn't do well.

I think this guy is going to swiftly win over all the people who were upset we didn't draft Noel and become a crowd favorite.

Cody's TRex arms are not even coming into the equation. This kid is for real. If Tim Duncan is the "Big Fundamental", I think we have the "Big Efficient."

Sigh. Our pick Porter has yet to show anything in SL.

It's just summer league. The games don't matter.

Zeller's games:

Game 1: 8 points, 5 rebounds, 44% FG
Game 2: 21 points, 13 rebounds, 50% FG, 9/9 FT
Game 3: 18 points, 10 rebounds, 64% FG, 4/7 FT, 5 TO (some of those were PG just throwing the ball way high in the air)

only thing stopping him from averaging 12/7 this year would be ref treatment. if MKG is any indication Zeller definitely won't get some of these whistles in the league

i feel like in today's game we got the whole look at zeller's pros and cons. he was mediocre at post defense, relatively weak in attacking the rim, but very productive, very active, and overall played like a (and i hate that i'm using this word) winner. i really think he's going to be decently productive even in his rookie season.
