Re: Our Franchise Direction?
Jamison isn't getting anymore than the room exception of 2.5 so this does not impact Henderson in anyway.

i think it kinda does impact henderson in that it lessens to some degree the chance that he will get a long-term deal right now. that's assuming jamison actually signs, which we all learned last offseason is not a foregone conclusion.

Re: Our Franchise Direction?
So, here's a question for everybody. Seems apparent that Jeffery Taylor is a SG not a SF.
So, who backs up MKG at small forward? As of now, in the SL, it looks like it's gonna be Pat Ewing, Jr. I just threw up in my mouth.

Re: Our Franchise Direction?
if wonder if we'll ever see any lineups with zeller and mcbob playing together with jeff/biz. call me crazy but i think it would be pretty effective. they are both athletic enough to guard the 3. its not ideal but id rather watch that than ewing jr or jamison
more realistically...jeff will play 3. gordon and sessions will be taking up 2 guard minutes again this year

Hendo starts at the 2, plays a lot of minutes as a backup 3 and Taylor comes off the bench to play most of his minutes at the 2. Here's how I see our rotation right now:
Jefferson (24) / Biz (24)
McBob (20) / Z-Rex (20) / Jefferson (8)
MKG (30) / Hendo (18)
Hendo (14) / Taylor (24) / Sessions (10)
Kemba (36) / Sessions (12)

This entire board has gone nuts since the summer league started.
On what planet would we trade Gerald for a third-string PG and a bad contract who is a locker room cancer???

Blame JT. At least Beasley is on a short-term 6th man contract, something Hendo refuses to accept. If JT becomes our starting SG we'll need a backup SF/PF and that's what Beasley is. Also, we'll eventually have to sign a 3rd string PG and Marshall is as good of a acquisition there as possible.

JTmania is officially out of hand. Nobody should be willing to give up on Hendo after three summer league games by our second year 3 and D guy .

Being that we've added 2 scoring bigs in Jefferson and Zeller we won't need much more offense out of our backcourt as previous years. Hendo only averaged 15 points with a frontcourt that didn't have a player in double figures. With Jefferson and Zeller putting points on the board I don't think we'll see an increase in Hendo's numbers, only a decrease, so no need to give him a pay raise and extensive years when we'll be looking to upgrade his position thru the next couple of offseasons.

Re: Our Franchise Direction?
We still need a wing scorer. MKG isn't a wing scorer, may not ever be. Gerald knows by now he's not making $8M a season. He likes it here and isn't going to force his way out. We'll end up locking him up for a 6-7M contract. He's too valuable to let walk. Plus he would be very valuable in a deal for a better wing scorer if we decided to go that route.

I love Summer League. No time of year do fans use the "Jump To Conclusions" mat from Office Space more.

At this point I think it's going to be the 1-year QO. I want Hendo to return but not for over $6.5 million annually.

I mean, we could go that route, not sure why we would though. As close as we are to the cap (virtually capped out with Hendo's cap hold), and assuming we sign Hendo, we'll be in MLE range. That's worth over $5m, and we can couple that with the Bi-An if necessary for another $2m.
Using the Room eliminates both the MLE and the BA, and like you said that's only worth about $2.5m to the $7m the other two can amount to. The Room is really only for teams under the cap to the point that they lose their other exceptions, but as close as we are to the cap we should take advantage.

Who ever said that Hendo liked it here? I have always expected him to jump ship on the first thing smoking. Just unfortunately for him everything smoking has veered clear of him.

we have been trying to trade Gerald forever no one wants him they all know he is just an average SG that should come off the bench
